Q: I have a 1991 Plymouth Sundance. The brakes don‘t work and emergency brake light stays on. what would be wrong and would it be fixable without a mechanic? Checked brake fluid and is full.: That model like others does not have an emergency brake. The brake you are referring to when put on auto-locks itself on because it is a parking brake. The light comes on to warn the driver that there is something not right in the braking system, and it is the first thought to check the parking brake to see if it is on. The parking brake is not the only reason for it to come on though. Low brake fluid is another reason for it to light up. Brake fluid is not consumed by the car though, and unless you are working on the brakes for some other reason you should not need to add fluid. So, you need to find the leak.

They said I had a small gas leak that could be from the gas cap not being tight enough. They turned off my engine light with their hand held machine. I tightened the gas cap and drove till I needed to fill up with gas and then the light came back on when it got to the 1/2 way mark again. What could be causing this problem? Q: just replaced yesterday but the battery light stays on evereything works fine: Get a voltage test at the battery should be 14.5 volts when running if it isn't the something isn't working. Sounds like the alternator needs replacing , take it back to whom you have bought it off, if it's used you might be a while finding a good one.

Q: The goal here is just having cars see us, not headlights etc. battery operated Christmas lights might work, but i am afraid because of the cold weather, the AA batteries would run out quickly, and may not be bright enough so cars can really see us. Q: 97 ford ranger, passed smog recently,slightly overdue for oil change but no noises/changes in the way it drives recently.check engine comes on a few days ago, I immediately borrow the OBDII reader from Autozone 15 miles away (had to call 4 before I found one that still lends one out for free w/deposit, BTW), it comes back with P1443 code, which Autozone says means about 8 different things. check engine light goes off after OBDII read even though I didn‘t press the button to remove the code from computer via reader. CE comes on again about 50 miles later, turns off again awhile laterwhat‘s the deal? according to multiple internet posts P1443 indicates an emissions control problem,usually the solenoidthere is some rust to the emissions system running the length of the truck but Meineike said recently it‘s superficial and fine for now. In any case, if the CE light doesn‘t keep coming on, should I worry about it? or pay to have someone take a closer look now?: My 97 Ranger check engine light came on/off randomly and scanned code P1443. I replaced the gas cap, evap. sensor and vacuum hoses. This did not fix problem. I then removed the vacuum hose from the purge solenoid valve and squirted two quick squirts of silicone lubricant into the vacuum port of the solenoid, while holding it in the upright position, replaced the vacuum hose and drove around the block. Check engine light went out and and never came back on. Sly

Q: I notice the car revs up 1 rpm when in park( that's the idle), but how to correct the problem. My reserch show i need a resister by the spark plug. Were do I get the resister from?: An auto parts store, but if the engine light is on you better NOT be driving it except maybe to be repaired. It is dangerous to your engine! Warning1 Warning!

Q: Hi, I attempted to switch the stock stereo system unit in my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with a Pioneer deh-2400ub system but i cant get it to turn on! I tried wiring it manually and also with an adapter but when i plug it in and turn the car on, the system doesnt turn on! My old one still works so im thinking that maybe the new one isn‘t compatible with the 2001 sunfire. Is anyone else having this problem? P.S. i already went back and switched out the system for another one to insure that the first unit wasnt faulty.
