FAQ

Car tires have no inner tube in the appearance of how to distinguish?
Car tires with or without inner tubes, not only from the appearance of a single view, and sometimes also need from its relevant "logo" to identify the above. This requires not only a certain theoretical knowledge, but also good at applying the theoretical knowledge to the specific physical identification.
the tires have about 25k on them
On an AWD vehicle mismatched tires can overheat the transfer case causing very expensive damage. If the existing tires are more than 20% worn then yes, absolutely replace all 4 at once. Most tire shops will insist on this anyway since they are not eager to pay for your new transfer case. On some models if there is less than 20% wear it is OK to replace a pair so long as the new tires are identical in terms of size, brand and model to the two tires being kept. Consult your dealer or the vehicle manufacturer to be sure. PS Yes, I have actually witnessed AWD systems being damaged by mismatched replacement tires. The last one (about a year ago, 1 tire put on by another shop, not mine) the car lasted about 30 minutes after the new tire was put on before the transfer case gave out. I believe the lawsuit is still pending.
toyota said i need new tires 2 of the tires are 1‘s? and the other 2 are 3‘s?
I am to assume that you are referring to 32nds of an inch if so yes they are bad, federal regulations on tires is 3/32 and 1/32 is just plain bald you should be able to check your self as tires have whats called a tread bar, its in-between the tread and if that bar is even with your tread then replace your tires. other then brakes your tires are very important.
I have a Giant mountain bike and would like to change the tires to road bike tires. What width road bike tires should I buy to replace the mountain bike tires?
First, you can't use road bike tires on a mountain bike rim (the diameters are incompatible). That said, what you presumably mean is what size slicks can you use? It's not really a question of size per se. It's mainly about rolling resistance, and that means eliminating the knobby tread and minimizing deformation. In general you can use any tire that is at least as wide as the rim, so the best performance will be with the narrowest tire with the highest pressure rating and as light as possible. Note that the disadvantage for narrower tires is less shock absorption from potholes, stones, etc. (and less ability to use the bike off road) and greater wear, so you may want to compromise. In general most mountain bike rims work fine in the city with 1.5 slicks, but could go narrower still (1.25, or even 1 . see link for choices (note you can choose by size at the left . just look for 26 diameter)).
Has anyone bought these tires for their Mazda5? I need all four tires replaced and these seem like a really good buy.
Toyo's are actually very good tires. I have an '07 3 with 20k on its Toyo's. You may want to just go with a higher grade of Toyo however the best tire you can buy is a Michelin. Good Years are not at the quality that they used to be when they were made in the states, they are now made in Mexico. I would price out Toyo and Michelin. 12/5/07 After I left that comment I noticed my tires are almost worn out aswell. I asked my boyfriend (works at a tire shop) about it and he said that since they are speed rated tires they will wear out much faster. You probably have the same thing. Good luck.
I’ve worn the tread of my tires and was wondering what tires to buy?
really depends on the type of riding you do. and how much you want to spend. for cross country, there is everything from dry tires to mud tires, and everything in between. Ones with a continuous tread in the middle are better for using on the road if you don't want to give up mountain tires but use roads frequently. If you are usually on the road, I'd get some slicks or semi-slicks to reduce rolling resistance, and rotating mass. You can get tires for under $10 to well over $100 each, so determine the type of riding you'll be doing, and go from there for the level of quality. There are many different companies, but like anything, they make cheap ones and high end ones. The style of tire is more important than the manufacturer.
Hi everyone. I got some questions regarding tires that I need answered. I need to replace the tires on my infiniti, but need some info on how to buy proper tires. The tires I got on now says P215/55R17 93V.So my questions are: 1) If I buy tires, is it absolutely necessary to match all 4 numbers from the old tire, or is it ok to buy any kind as long as all 4 match? what numbers are essential to match?2) How can you tell if tires are in good condition?3) How can you tell if its snow tires, summer performance tire, or all-purpose tires by looking at it?Thanks a lot everyone for helping me out.
There should be a sticker on the driver's side door frame that indicates the tire size and inflation that your car should have. Take a lincoln cent and stick it head first between the treads on your tires. The penny should go in far enough that you can't see the top of Lincoln's head. If it doesn't, the tire is too worn. Snow tires have a very distinctive tread. If you have a four wheel drive vehicle, you're supposed to use four snow tires or none at all. I live in Maine and I've driven on all season tires for years. I can't even remember the last time I bought a snow tire. Regarding tire size - most states only allow tires a couple sizes bigger than what came on the vehicle originally. If you go beyond that, the vehicle won't pass a legal inspection.
importance of keeping recommended tire sizes?
Check to see if the pistons are pushing the pad evenly. You might want to try putting a little grease on the back side of the pad.
