Q:There are 2 warning lights that came on along with the check engine light. One of them looked like a car with a key in the middle and the other looked similar to a H and then the truck lost all acceleration I still had power for lights and my breaks worked but when i pushed on the gas it didnt go anywhere.This happened twice and i turned the car off and then restarted it and the engine light was still on but the other 2 werent but then when i started driving again and it did it again. we brought it to auto zone and they ran a diagnostic on it and said that nothing was wrong and turned the check engine light off but I dont want to get stuck somewhere and dont know what the lights mean. Please help

The light that looks like a car with a key in it has to do with the security system and is probably what is causing your problem. The H might be something to do with the four wheel drive if it even has that? Just a guess. But yeah the security system can completely immobolize your car if it thinks for whatever reason it might be getting stolen. Kinda hard to diagnose intermittent things like that but I'd suggest taking it to the dealer and see if they can pull any related codes that might be stored (its possible to have codes stored and no check engine light on, it usually only comes on if something is detected that will affect emissions). I would guess Autozone probably just checked the engine control module and none of the others.

Q:I‘ve noticed in the last few days that my gears seem to be slipping. Not just one gear, but all of them. Sometimes they won‘t engage at all, and sometimes, I can get the car moving, and the transmission will slip out of gear while shifting to any further gears. It is an automatic transmission. Yesterday, I decided to go in and get my transmission flushed, but while I was driving in, the warning light came on saying there was a problem with the emissions system. I know in previous vehicles that my catalytic converter choked the engine when I needed to replace it, but I never seemed to have problems driving the vehicle. Any gear-heads out there that might be able to help me out?

modern auto trannys r controlled by computer.bad battery bad bat connection can fool computer into acting crazy. emission lite can be from bad spark plug/wire ,,oxygen sensor.all can effect tranny.that said.did the flush help?. i dont like flushes because they stir up crap in side and dont change the filter slipping sounds bad. iv had trannys go bad in 100,000 miles even changing fluid/filter at 40,000 and 75,000 miles.good luck

Q:I just got into my car this morning and noticed my ABS light is on. It was not on last night, so I have no idea what happened. My car sat inside all night, and like I said, when I got in and started it this morning, the ABS light was on and did not turn off the entire way to work. Does anyone know what may have caused this, and what needs to be done?

I had the same thing but on another vehicle. A brake inspection showed that it was the abs sensor. And all that had to be done was to clean it, which was much less costly than the brake inspection itself. You can drive without abs anyway. All abs does it pump the brakes for you when stopping in slippery conditions. This you can do yourself. I know some people who actually prefer no abs, and disconnected it.

Q:ok i recently auto adjusted my monitor,what exactly does "auto adjust" do ? , like does it automatically choose a brightness/ contrast that relates to my monitor, or does it just do whatever it wants kinda thing. cause i dont really understand what auto adjust does to a monitor. also whats the best highness of brightness and contrast to have on a lcd monitor?. and i was wondering if changing your monitor settings effects my picture qualitys and coloring or if its justt the way it looks cause of my monitor, or did it change my pictures too.

Q:My 2006 Mazda 3 check engine light is on, but not blinking. The dealership said that it‘s not serious if the engine is not blinking and that it is ok to drive. Can anyone else out there confirm this is true? Has anyone else had this problem with a Mazda 3? They say it can be a loose gas cap. And that if i drive for 100 miles it should turn off.

Q:First it said o2 front sensor and shift sensor problem fixed o2 light went out. After driving for 20 minutes engine light on again this time it said shift sensor and ets off. the car still runs and drives ok except for it will hesitate when taking off al most like it is not getting gas if you pump the pedal it will be fine. had the engine light reset. now the o2 rear is not working right got part but haven‘t fixed it yet. Now I can put the car in first and it moves second and it ok 3rd it‘s ok this is an auto transmission the car drive fine till the ets off and engine light come on again then it will hesitate taking off can some one help I hope this makes sense

I'm guessing ets is electronic traction/stability? If this is the case its probably a wheel speed sensor problem, and its completely turning the system off. Get the new 02 sensor installed and have the codes read and cleared, if the check engine light comes on again, read the codes and take this info to a trusted mechanic or dealer. BTW: Bravo on car maintenance, most people just let it go.

Is that the lever-activated, or switch controlled transfer case? there are a couple of steps, here. this first step goes for either system, here. 1) Have someone YOU TRUST engage the 4x, get on the ground and watch for the front drive shaft to spin. If it is, then your hubs are not engaging. Common even with manual locking hubs. They go bad or get broken. Drive shaft not spinning, and you have the switch activated system; Your shift motor may be bad. the switch may be bad. Had a problem in a Bronco 2 with the shift motor not disengaging the 4x.
