- Q: how much do you think it would cost for installation?i heard that solar panels can store electricity and any excess electricity gets sold back to the electric company. how much money can a home owner make from doing this?do you think solar panels are worth it?
- What's your Source (Optional)
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on convention centers or event venues?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on convention centers or event venues. In fact, many convention centers and event venues have already started adopting solar energy systems to reduce their environmental impact and save on energy costs. The large rooftop spaces available in these venues provide ample opportunity for installing solar panels and generating clean, renewable electricity.
- Q: I want to buy a solar panel from my house and I want to know how much it costs, what I have to buy and everything I need to know
- It depends on at least 3 factors, according to my friend Richard, who is a solar panel installer and electrician. ) how well your house is insulated 2) how good you are at conserving energy 3) how many stories (levels) your house has. $5,000 to 30,000 for the whole array because you will surely need more than one panel. In January of 2009 the government will be providing rebates or tax credits for solar panel installation. Good luck!
- Q: does it mean that it can get that much in a day? Or like, in an hour?
- Wattage okorder
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a mining operation?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a mining operation. Solar power systems can generate electricity by converting sunlight into energy, which can then be used to power various mining equipment and operations. This clean and renewable energy source can help reduce the environmental impact of mining operations and also provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional power sources. However, the feasibility and effectiveness of using solar panels for a mining operation would depend on factors such as the energy requirements of the operation, available sunlight, and the size and efficiency of the solar power system.
- Q: I've been figuring ways to keep water thawed out this winter, and this bucket seems to be the easiest thing. What kind of set up (solar panel) would I need to feed this 260 watt heated bucket?
- Unfortunately solar panels are low output, generally only 2 volt and very low amperage,so you would need to build a multi panel array with a DC-AC converter all together costing several hundred dollars which would only work during sunlight.Just roughly figuring, about $800. Plan2-Solar charger, battery bank, and DC-AC inverter so it would work 24hrs a day, also several hundred $$. Solar power does just not seem feasible(to me)in this application.By far the cheapest set up here would be an extension cord fromhouse to the bucket.260 watts per hr is a fairly lightweight draw, even not figuring the thermostat's cycling it on and off as needed.Electricity is sold in kilowatt hours(000W/hr).This bucket would use(not allowing for thermostats control lowering it)appx 6000watts or 6KW per day.Depending on your electrical cost per Kwh it would cost very little to run.(In my location appx 50cents a day) or appx the same amount as my computer(325watts total)) Note that that would be a maximum rate, and would actually be less due to thermostat cycling off and on as needed.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed in areas with high wind speeds?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed in areas with high wind speeds. However, it is crucial to consider the specific design and installation requirements to ensure their stability and durability in such conditions. Wind load calculations, proper anchoring systems, and careful mounting techniques are necessary to ensure the panels can withstand the strong winds and continue to operate efficiently.
- Q: Can solar panels be used for powering security systems?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power security systems. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be used to power various devices, including security cameras, alarms, and sensors. This allows security systems to operate independently of the electrical grid, making them more reliable and cost-effective in remote locations or areas prone to power outages. Moreover, solar-powered security systems are also environmentally friendly, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and minimizing carbon emissions.
- Q: I want to be more self sufficient and get solar panels for electricity in a small house any tips will help. i need to know how many watts is enough and ect.
- To clarify your thinking, ask yourself whether your goal is really to be more self-sufficient, or to save money. For most people, I think when they say they want self-sufficiency, they really mean they want to save money, not pay more. The money-saving route may come through putting in more insulation on the house, or double-pane windows, or energy-efficient appliances. Solar might play a part, but the kind of solar that pays back well (if at all) is the type without batteries. That doesn't give you self-sufficiency - if the power company has a blackout, the solar electric will automatically disconnect. Your power company may offer a free energy audit to help you save money. And if you are interested in pursuing solar electric (or even better, solar hot water), check with a local installer. They can size your system and give you a free quote.
- Q: I used to live from my car and i am soon returning to that way.I want a solar panel to a battery to a surge protector so that i can use a portable wifi box and my laptop at the same time. Also i would charge my phone occasionally.I would like the charge to be enough for several days in case of cloudy weather.I just do not want anything to short circuit or ruin my laptop etc.Is thete a way to get this? What do i need or what exactly should i look into?
- Sorry, but you're looking at thousands of dollars to accomplish that. Solar power/panels aren't cheap enough yet to do what you're asking.
