I‘m trying to figure this out because I need a new flat iron, the one I currently have the plates are black, however, there is chip on the plates that reveals that there is a silver looking material underneath. The chip obviously says that the plates are coated. I need a new ceramic flat iron and want to buy the real, nothing coated. I see so many that says ceramic but the plates color vary from black, silver, yellow.
