Q:my rear wheel has a spoke missing and 2 other spokes are broken. how safe is this to ride untill my new wheel comes?: Do not ride the bike till you have had the problem fixed. Any mc shop or dealership can fix this problem. the spokes are what makes the rim stable. You already have 1 missing and 2 damaged, not many when you are talking about 40 or more spokes on a wheel but will dramatically impact the stability of the wheel. Remove the wheel and take it to a mechanic, a dealership service department or independent shop for fixing before you ride again. And by the way, try to think about what you did that broke one, and damaged 2 others. Try not to do it again.

Since you know the radius of the wheel, you can the work out how much height the sensor has gained in terms of the angle the wheel has rotated. Now, for any time t, we know that the sensor will be 18(1-cos(x)) feet higher than it started. We also know that at t=0 the sensor was at the lowest point of the wheel, which was 8 feet off the ground (since the centre of the wheel was 26 feet off the ground and the wheel has radius 18 feet) Hence, at any time t, the sensor is -18(cos(t*pi/4)-1) + 8 feet from the ground.

But does it really matter what size you get for your board???: Larger wheels are more mass, thus will roll over objects easier. Larger wheels also have more mass, thus will hold speed longer and will have a higher max speed. Larger wheels can also cause wheelbite (the wheel hits the board and stops), which maybe cause you to fly off the board if your board was not designed to fit large wheels. Smaller wheels will accelerate faster, but may not be able to roll over as many objects. Smaller wheels have less mass so they will not hold our their speed as long. Smaller wheels will be able to fit on more boards without getting wheelbite though.

The rear wheel has a hub designed to fit cogs, which is what propels the bike. Once you remove them from the bike it will become obvious. The cogs can't attach to the front wheel. Don't think bike companies haven't tried, though. There were some pretty ingenious attempts at making both wheels the same back in the 70's, where the cogs were 'outboard' of the frame, but it was actually too complicated/expensive to produce at the time. Oh and yes to your 2nd part, the tires are the same size. Those on the other hand are interchangeable.
