Q: is there any aerospoke wheels for a cyclocross bikesand is it possible to make a fixed gear cyclocross bike?
I don't see any reason why you couldn't use an aerospoked wheel for a cyclocross bike, I don't think there would be an advantage to it, most of the courses are short with not much open space for them to be effective. I would also be concerned about the edges on aerospokes. The dynamics of cyclocross, not that I get my hands or arms through the wheels, but spinning aerospoked wheels would hurt alot more if you did happend to put a finger, hand or arm near them. And I don't see any reason you couldn't set on up as a fixed gear, but i think it would make mounting and dismounting at obstacles a bit tricky. That's my two cents. . . Now, get out and ride!.
Q: I‘m not getting what types of formulas to use for these questions, please post formulas and show work if you provide answer or you can just explain the formula I need to use. Thanks!1. A bicycle with a 28-inch wheel (diameter) travels a distance of 800 feet. How many revolutions does the wheel make (to the nearest revolution)?a. 212 revolutionsb. 103 revolutionsc. 218 revolutionsd. 109 revolutions2. A wheel with a 20-inch radius is marked at two points on the rim. The distance between the marks along the wheel is found to be 3 inches. What is the angle (to the nearest tenth of a degree) between the radii to the two marks?a. 4.6°b. 10.6°c. 6.6°d. 8.6°
1) To get the circumference of the wheel, use the formula Cd*3.14 (pi) where d is the diameter and C is the circumference. You get 87.92. Next, convert 800 ft into inches by multiplying 800 by 12. You get 9600. Finally, divide 9600 by 87.92 to get the total number of revolutions. The answer is d. 109 revolutions. 2) You will need to use trig functions to get this answer. First, your isosceles triangle will need to be bisected from the angle you are trying to calculate to the center of the 3 side. You now have two equal right triangles. Using the tangent formula of tan(angle) opposite side / adjacent side, you get tan(angle) 1.5 / 20 or 0.075. (1.5 is the 3 side bisected in two equal parts.) Use your calculator to get the inverse tangent of 0.075 then multiply that by 2 (remember you bisected that angle to get to right triangles.) Your answer to the nearest whole degree should be 9°.
Q: How to see Professor Lang's "we marching the wheel of history, constantly repeating the tragedy of the past"?
History is used to repeat.
Q: First of all i live in Michigan, so the winters get pretty nasty.I want to get a 1994 Mazda miata, a little two seater convertible. This car is rear wheel drive and my dad wants me to get a front wheel drive car because he says its much safer during the winter. Is this true? And how much safer is it??
Most modern cars have front wheel drive for a very good reason: front wheel drive is safer and more controllable for the average driver. A front wheel drive vehicle has most of its weight on the front wheels, usually between 60% and 70%, so that it tends to go straight, just like an arrow where the weight is concentrated in the arrowhead. On slippery surfaces, if you give it too much gas in a turn, the front wheels will spin, causing the car to skid straight ahead. Even an inattentive driver will immediately realize there is a problem and let up on the gas, quickly regaining control: whereas a car with rear wheel drive in the same situation might spin the rear out causing the inattentive driver to lose control. Front wheel drive is also great in the snow. Since most of the weight is on the drive wheels, you get better traction, and if you do get stuck with a spinning wheel in snow or mud, just turn the steering wheel a bit to allow the front tires to get a new bite.
Q: Introduce the wheel galaxy
The galaxy looks like a wheel-like ring, the external halo is a lot of newly formed stars. Astronomers believe that the galaxy was originally a galaxy-like spiral galaxy, because with another galaxy collided, it becomes today's wheel-like. They estimated that about two hundred million years ago, a smaller galaxy crashed into the center of a larger galaxy. As the gravity of the larger galaxy center is twisted by the small galaxies, resulting in shock waves, from the central rushed to the outside, so that the outer nebula pressure, the formation of new stars. Although people find two small galaxies next to the wheel galaxy, but more that they have nothing to do with the collision, the original collision of the galaxy has long been left, is estimated to be located in the distance of 250,000 light years.
Q: Okay. My car's wheel bearing is going out. I jacked it up the wheel was moving in and out and when I drive I can hear the rotor rubbing against the brakes. My question is: How do I get to the bearings. I get the wheel off, the calipers, and the rotor off but then what do I do to get to the spindel?
It would help if you provide the year, make, and model of vehicle you are referring to. Every vehicle is different.
Q: Hi I'm looking for a decent pottery wheel. I don't know what would be better- eletric or pump...Anyways, I want to know if there is a certain brand or where I can get it like at Michaels or something. My budget if preffered 60$ and under. Thanks!
Advark in Santa Ana CA
Q: My steering wheel needs to be turned slightly to the right for my car to go straight. i wasnt sure if it is a wheel alignment problem or if the steering wheel can be adjusted. what can/should be done and what will it cost?
It could be alignment, which is about $75-$125, OR it could be something as simple as one tire may have less air than the other. Make sure both, actually ALL tires have the proper and same amount of air, and try it again. It could also be a factor of wheel balance, which is about $7 per wheel, but it sounds more like one of the previous issues. Start with the cheapest!
Q: Where can i find a 61mm wheels for my inline skate?and im also wondering can you use different size wheels?
WD-40 was designed to displace water (wdwater displacement). It is an extremely light oil that can mix with water. It will work on skate bearings, if you want to use it every couple times you go out. Some racers use it and give every bearing a shot of it every time they skate. Almost anything will work in skate bearings but the general rule is the lighter it is, the more often you have to use it. Any of the spray materials are extremly light. A light machine oil will work well and you can get it in most hardware stores or hobby shops. It is really convenient if you get it in a needle oiler which is a narrow bottle with a long thin metal tip that is designed for getting the oil in small spots. You only want about 1/2 drop of oil in a bearing. For longer life, you can go with a gel or very light grease. About 3 pin head spots of grease or gell are about all you need if they are placed centered on a race.
Q: WHAT are the advantages of front wheel and rear wheel drive and why do car manufacturers prefer front wheel drives now
They do it on thir sheule.
