- Q:What things in my car could the seizing of my water pump cause? As I stated in another question, the power steering went, the red battery light came on and it over heated. The mechanic said it seized and i'm lucky the engine didn't seize. He has to look into it more. I'm just really curious as to what kind of damage i've done and the possibilities! thanks in advance.
- Plan on the car failing completely soon...the rings probably were damaged from excessive heat...depending on how long you drove it while it was too hot. The rings on the pistons are most likely bad now and will start fouling you spark plugs....best start saving now for another car.....here's a hint..if the car is in great shape other wise take it to a dealer for a trade in..before it fails and they give you a better trade in value.

- Work pump, spare pump, repair pump three are interchangeable use, the work pump need to overhaul, repair pump work, work pump is maintenance pump. The capacity of the water pump is not less than 25% of the work pump. If the work pump, spare pump, repair pump model is the same, the work pump 4 units, repair pump at least 1 units, 5 pumps, repair pumps need 2 units
- Q:I was recently driving and noticed my heat gauge in the red. I have a 1992 Honda Accord 4 door LX. When I opened the hood what appears to be water was all over the place. Is this the water pump or something else? I want to fix it this weekend so I was hoping for a better understanding of what it might be. - it should,nt be water, it should be anti-freeze if it was leaking. if you meant anti-freeze the it don,t have to be the pump. it cold be a busted radiator hose, the radiator or 1 of the heater hoses leaking.

- This is the start capacitor is damaged, or start the coil break, it is recommended to check if the coil wire in the end can be connected, if left in the tank to replace the coil, if the capacitor is a replacement can (470V, 10uF).

- Right..the water pump doesn't sound like your problem. However, it would not hurt to get the cooling system totally flushed out and replaced with new fluid, if this has not been done in a long time. Might run you about...$75, just a guess. You also should really consider replacing the fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs. This could really make a difference for you if they are old. Wouldn't cost you but $30 for all of those parts and maybe 45 minutes labor.

- Usual answer is to look for the flats of the gland on the shaft on tighten up with a spanner,as this will compress the packing a bit more. A small drip is not very bad but you are right to check.
- Q:I want to put a water pump on a horse trough with the pump on the outside of the fence. There is a hose attachement at the bottom of the trough for the intake. I want to have the outake hook back to fall into the top of the water, reducing algae and eliminating mosquito larvae. I have never used a pump before. Need advice on type, size, etc. Thanks!
- A 12 volt water feature pump from a garden center would do the job. Four litres a minute with a shower head on the end going into the trough should give the aeration you need. The head off a plastic watering can would also do.
