Q:i had my boilers coil clean two days ago, and the guy who did it said that the coil had a crack. Now my boiler is releasing hot water in all my floor. Is it possible that he cracked the coil, because it did not release water before the coil got clean. he said that the coil cracked because the every time the coil get clean it moves back and forth, is the true was the his fault.he works in a company and has an office in town.: It's not very likely that he cracked it, but it is possible. Just by cleaning it won't cause a crack. Now, if he drained out the water and left the gas on getting it hot, then returned the relatively cool water to the how boiler parts, then yes, it can make a crack. Those coils are generally cast iron, and VERY heavy. They don't move much if any at all. It depends on the boiler system you have. If you have the instantaneous type, I still can't see how he could have made a leak, unless he beat it with a hammer.

Q:I got a letter in the mail (and so did my 4 other roommates) stating that we owe our landlord about $10,000 because she believes the boiler broke because of our negligent behavior. Q:What size emergency generator would I need to run my well pump and oil boiler?: you would have to get the power ratings off of the pump and the boiler to size it properly . for example on your boiler you have the oil burner it self and any controls ( circulators, zone valves and transformers ) and they vary in size and amperage

Q:I hired a contractor (he is owner of the business as well) to replace old gas heating boiler in our house. It was in last October He installed high efficiency boiler that reduced our gas bills, but our happiness was short lived , since the problems started in December. The boiler stopped working because of faulty igniter,.Called the installer took him nearly 12 days to replace. After that it stopped working 6 or 7 times. I would call him, he would show up in 2 - 3 days, fix something and the heating was back. This time it stopped working again, but the installer never showed up, calls left on his voicemail but no reply. The boiler is NTI- TI-150. We had to buy portable electric heaters and in December, when there was no heat for 12 days, we had to keep gas burning in a stove, in addition to electric heaters. The installer is nice guy, but I had enough of it. I am thinking to ask him to replace the boiler with something more reliable. What should I do if he refuses? Should I sue him?: Report the installer to the local better business bureau. Go to the Manufacturer's web site and find another local service provider.

These are sometime called Scotch marine boiler. There are tube type boilers where the water is in the tubes but the tubes are connected at top and bottom by drums. The bottom drum is called the mud drum and the top is the steam drum where the water level in the boiler is maintained and the steam is separated from the water. The coil type boiler is a special version of the water tube boiler in that the tubes are formed in a spiral. The links below will give some additional information.

Q:I tried plumbing tape, then more plumbing tape, then more plumbing tape. Still drips. The nozzle was actually sideways last time. It is tight and I'm afraid to go any tighter.: There could be a couple of things that may be happening to your boiler drain: 1. There could be cross threading that is happening (so no matter how much Teflon tape that you may apply....it will still keep leaking). If this is occurring, change out the boiler drain and add a new one (preferably a NIBCO brand) Check to make sure that the threads are good on the boiler itself....if not re tap the inner threads to accept the new boiler drain snuggly. 2. The boiler drain could be damaged and need to be replaced. (Simple Fix) remember that brass is soft and it may get damaged if over tightened in anyway. If you are still having issues you could come out of the boiler with a brass nipple and then attach the boiler drain.
