Operations Conditions


1. The medium temperature should not be over 60oC, the density 1200Kg/m3, and the pH value within 5-9.
2. During running, the pump must not be lower than the permitted lowest liquid level.
3. Rated voltage 380 V, rated frequency 50 Hz. The motor can run successfully, only under the condition the deviations of both rated voltage and frequency are not over ± 5%.
4. The maximum diameter of the solid grain going through the pump has not to be larger than 50% of that of the pump outlet.

Q: on my 92' toyota celica, i got the heater core by pass fixed and also a new radiator because both were leaking, and now my mechanic tells me i also need a new water pump , which can be really expensive! apparently it is leaking water too, so i was thinkng just filling up my car with water before driving until i can afford to get it fixed.. can this shortcut be done to prevent my water pump causing me further problems?
not a good idea. depending on the rate the fluids are leaking from the pump, you could need a lot of water just to get down the street. more importantly, straight water is not good for your car, antifreeze is also a coolant and protectant for the engine.your engine gets too hot, good chance your going to blow a head gasket. think a water pump is expensive, nothing compared to fixing a head gasket - imagine having to do both. just replace the pump.

Q: 1995 Ford Contour GL, 2.0L 4Cyl- three water pump failures. I bought the car in 2000 [49,000 miles] and in 2003 [116,000 miles] a leak from the weep hole area was repaired by replacing the pump. In October, 2005 [164,000] another leak from the same place was again repaired by replacing the pump. Just over two years later now, 196,000 miles, and today it's leaking from the same area. Maybe it isn't a pump failure so much as a leak for some other reason? Since purchase, the car has run what appears to be hot, in that the temperature gauge, when at operating temps, is only a tick or two from overheating, but since it's in the normal range, I've always assumed it's just a faulty thermostat. It's never overheated except for when the leak has sprung up.Any thoughts? :)
When all these pumps were replaced, were they new pumps or remanufactured pumps? It makes a difference in the quality and longevity. Spring for the new pump, preferably from Ford. The impeller problem was on the 2.5 liter V6 Contour, they are plastic and tend to scatter under load. As far as the gauge goes, it is normal on the four cylinder Contour for the hand to be between the M and the L in normal on the gauge. All of the 4 cylinder Contours are like this and the vehicle is not overheating. There is a TSB from Ford concerning the gauge, the TSB number is 98-21-3, the dealer can pull it up and let you look at it.

year, make and model. regardless of what it is, most likely answer is the impeller has failed completely because it was not serviced regularly as it should of been. if you were out motoring around and it stalled out before you noticed it, you overheated the engine and it probably needs work for it to run again, if its even repairable. outboard the impeller is located just on top of the lower unit. pretty simple to change, but the exact procedure varies depending on year, make and model. sterndrives can be very similiar and just as easy, or different and even easier. depends on year, make and model. inboards the impeller is belt driven. look for the part dirven by the engine belt(s) with two hoses attached, probably down low on one side.

Q: i already removed all bolts including the fan except for the last bolt on the water pump which the serpentine belt rides on the bolt backs into that so i am trying to find out how to get the bolt from the serpentine belt pulley off do i have to pull the serpentine pully off and if so how there is no bolt or allen holding the serpentine pully onim just trying to replace the water pump
If the pulley is bolted from behind, the bracket has four bolts that mounts it to the block, you need to find those bolts remove the pulley/bracket assembly. If it is a 3800 engine you might need the plastic elbow from the bracket to the the intake manifold also. Coolant flows through that elbow to the heater hoses. poor design, I know but what are you gonna do? Got to love tose engineers LOL. Good luck
Q: How do you check water pump on 98 deville haveing overhea?
You can't really check the water pump except that with the belt off, you wiggle it to look for play in the bearing. When the bearing gets loose, it causes seal failure and massive coolant loss. But after 100k miles it is time to do the pump anyway. Not that hard or expensive. Do the thermostat as well, just in case. But if no coolant loss, then overheating is probably from something else, like bad plug wire, intake manifold leak, plugged catalytic converter, retarded ignition, head gasket, etc. If the radiator was not clear, then the electric fan would go on often. Not likely radiator. Depends also on when heats up. If city driving, then likely to be fan or switch. If highway driving, then plugged convertor more likely. Put cooling system pressure tester on radiator cap. Check for leaks under higher than normal pressure. See if holds pressure. Then start engine and see if cylinder leak causes oscillation.
