The car overheated once before and he put coolant in it, ever since then, it hasn't overheated. But last week he told me that I shouldn't drive it at all because the pump is about to go. It's rainy outside so I can't tell if the pump is leaking water from the quot;weepquot;. Is it the water pump? I want to make a two mile round trip to go pick up sushi and the place is a mile there and a mile back. Will I seize my engine or get stranded if I make this tiny trip? Is it my water pump?: Year Engine? (Water Pump effecting the Shifting_____:] No!) Could Clogged Valve Body or you just need to change the Fluid Filter. Trickling Sound OK, Never Heard that one. {Hard to say----is the Fan directly connected to the Water Pump?} With the engine off does the Fan move if you Push Pull it up down? Yes Bad Pump Bearing. Do you see a Coolant leak under the center of the engine behind the Radiator? (Leak from weep hole).

Q: Im having a hell of a time getting the water pumps to work, even when located right next to a water source (i.e. river, lake, ocean, etc). Q: Okay, I'm setting up an NFT hydroponic garden and am now looking for the water pump. I would like some suggestions for one that will give a steady stream at a good rate for the plants. But, it must have a minimum lift of 5ft to reach the first level.I would prefer one with a flow rate adjustment but if you could at least make a suggestion to the GPH it should pump for the right flow after a 5 ft climb I could search more in that range for one I like.Thank you!: I think you may want to look at the small pond pumps and just about any nursery or home supply store or landscaping store. they may have the specs on hand, or see if they can demo one for you. some places have a display pond set up already. You also might try a small swimming pool pump and put a voltage regulator in the line and adjust the pump speed that way. maybe rig a sewing machine pedal in the line and use a C clamp for an adjuster. I love rigging thing. It may not work with a gfi plug.

Q: I recently got the water pump replaced on a 99 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL (3.5L V6), and ever since the temperature gage seems to be running higher...between half way and the 3rd line, where before it was replaced it never got above the second line. It is doing this when I slow down and stop at lights. Once I get going the temperature does drop. Is this normal, or did they do something wrong?: There's a few different things that could be causing your problem. 1: Did they change the thermostat? If so, they may have replaced it with a defective one. If not, then it may need to be replaced. 2: What was the reason the water pump was replaced in the first place? if it was for any other reason than leaking then this could be causing your problem. 3: They might not have gotten all the air out of the system. when you drain all the water and then fill system back up, there are large air pockets in engine that must be bleed out. If not, these air pockets will get trapped behind the thermostat and cause the thermostat not to open when it's suppose to! 4: Are your cooling fans coming on? If not, you may have a bad temp sensor, causing your fans not to come on while you are stopped. This type of problem is hard to narrow with out seeing it in person. I would take it back to the place that replace your water pump and see if they can figure it out.
