- doesn't seem overly stated. sand runs about 2500lb per yard,18 yards on a truck.it all depends on the slope you have and the rise you end up with.not sure the code where your at but you will need approximately the same amount of black dirt as you need in sand possibly 36 yards less.

- The white wire is the common or neutral wire anyway and should not be carrying any voltage. Being that it is only a foot deep it was obviously added after the house was built because even direct burial U/F cable should be 2' deep per the electrical code. It possibly is an irrigation control line or landscape ltg. power line which in that case it would be low voltage. I would tape it up and forget it as well.

- If you don't like it your not gonna last, do something you like to do. If you want to work on Heavy Vehicles talk to you counciler they can usually point you in the right direction. I can give you pros and cons, but my oppinion might be differnt from your or the next person. Hope this helps you out
