6.Conditions of use
Pumps used in the following conditions should be continuously to work properly:
1. For water pumps suitable medium, medium temperature shall not exceed + 40°C
2. The medium PH value between 6.5 ~ 8.5
3. The volume of medium containing solid impurity is less than 0.1%, the size is not more than 0.2 mm
4. The power frequency 50 hz, voltage for single-phase 220 v, 380 v, three-phase voltage fluctuation range for rating of 0.9 to 1.1 times
5. Diving depth of no more than 5 m, is not suitable for irrigation and drainage of sewage and chemicals.
- Q:could it be the water pump??
- sounds like a head gasket to me, I'd get it checked immediately.
- Q:to see if it is pumping coolant
- If your radiator has a cap you can take it off when engine is cold. Start the car and notice the gently flow of coolant and then after the engine warms and the thermostat opens, about 10 minutes at idle, the upper hose should start feeling warm and the coolant should flow faster past the radiator opening. If you don't see the rushing coolant the impeller of the water pump isn't working. Hope you don't have a leak but you can lose the bearing in the water pump without losing the seal, so there is no leak.
- Q:the question i have is can the pump be turning and not leaking but not pump water??? i know the olden days (the good ole days) as long as the impeller was turning it would pump water! leaking seal is when it went bad,or locked up..like a box fan blade as long as it is turning its moving air...
- Why not check the flow of coolant in your radiator. When the motor is cold remove the radiator cap, drain two cup fulls of coolant from the drain valve on the bottom. Start the car and when the top radiator hose is too hot to touch watch for flow of coolant directly inside the open radiator. You may need a small flashlight to watch the coolant. if there's no movement after 10 minutes idling two things could be wrong: Thermostat stuck shut or the impeller is in fact broken inside the water pump. Do the easy stuff first. Good luck!
- Q:We still have water, but it keeps constantly running, and won't stop. The pump itself got warm/hot, and we're afraid that it's going to get ruined or blow up or something. We turned it off for about 30 minutes, then back on to bottle up some water. It's the middle of a snowstorm, and a horrible time for a water pump to stop working, help please!! - The radiator surely holds the water/coolant and the pump circulates the mixture via the engine. Upon returning to the radiator, the water is cooled from air passing via the fins of the radiator. The pumps job is to flow the mixture to verify that the nice and comfortable water to relax subsequently, the engine is then cooled.

- Q:need to know how to change water pump of my plymouth voyager its a 96 and motor is a 4.
- Ummm I kind of agree and disagree with C-tech. the 96 Voyager came in one of 3 four cylinder engines, 2.2.L 2.5L or , 2.5L turbo, I think the 2.6L was discontinued in the late 80's or around 91. And the water pump is driven externally, Just look under the alternator and you will see it. So remove the alt, remove the bracket then unbolt the whole pump/pump housing assy, then unbolt the housing from the pump. Clean the surface where the o-ring seals the housing to the block, Run a bead of silicone on the cleaned housing to pump surface, bolt together (dont glob on the glue) Install the housing to the block with a new o-ring, and finish the assy.And to even make sure you have a 2.2 or 2.5 right where the thermostat goes, the head has a housing cast on the head there is a galley plug. Slightly tighten then remove the plug, pour in the coolant ( in the radiator)water mix (50-50) install plug then run engine, what for fan to kick in, then wait for fan to shut off, set your level in the reservoir and BAMM your done. And where I do agree with C is when MBZ owned Chrysler and had the 2.4 installed, somewhere in the 00, but I dont know, I quite Chrysler in 99 And if its a 2.6 get a mechanic to do it

- I know this isn't exactly what you asked but if you have the v6 engine changing the water pump on this car is a very easy job. There is a video on youtube that shows you exactly how to do it, just search water pump gm 3.1. Just be sure to get all of the old gasket off and use rtv on the new gasket. You could probably change it yourself for less than $50 and 1 hour if you can do basic car maintenance.
