- Q: I noticed my car was quot;in the redand was about to overheat as i was driving, so at first I thought maybe i needed more coolant. I turned off my car and heard a fan noise under my engine for like a minute then it stopped. I checked the radiator and it was empty (no coolant) so i put water in there to get to the store to buy more coolant. By the time i bought some the water was already gone (this was only like 10 min) so I put the coolant in drove home again i noticed i was overheating, i checked again and all the coolant had leaked out too..it was all gone, that QUICK! So i asked a couple of men about it, and they say it sounds like it could be a hose or either a water pump. I don't know which it is, i can't drive it anywhere b/c it keeps overheating and i don't want to get it towed for $75 just to get a new hose. So is there a way i could tell what the problem is? Thanks!
- Yes - look for the leak!!!! With the car off, look for stains on the radiator, or puddles of greenish fluid anywhere. If you see puddles, look for the hoses/connections above them. If you see a stain near the water pump mounting on your car, you are likely having a water pump issue (or a hose clamp has worn a hole in one of your hoses mounted to the pump) If you don't see anything, add water to your car, and look for immediate leaks. You should see something. Check under the car for puddling. Turn off the car and immediately check under the hood - many times your coolant will remain pressurized long enough to continue leaking after its shut off for a little while.
- Q: how do I know my water pump failed. 98 mustang V6 started to leak coolant from the front lower part of the the engine. How do I know for sure my pump is bad? Did refill and kept on leaking as I manage to get home. Little help please!
- I count on he didn't disassemble the engine. Clearly this failure used to be from lack of good storage tactics. Lack of use is much worse than heavy use. I seen few outboards worn out, they're neglected to death. Having said that examine out my answer to a similar question today. Yes, failure of the water pump can contribute to this failure but a unfastened spark plug would not. The water pump should be replaced once per 12 months, or now not longer than two seasons, in spite of use. They take a suite because of age, and can fail with out warning. Whilst the first mechanic has some responsibility, I think you need to take the lions share. See owners handbook on storage tactics. Sorry!!!!!!
- Q: Pump head is too high what's the impact?
- Measure the height of 50m, using 100m lift pump, the disadvantage is a waste of energy, such as the selection of 100m lift pump, flow of 10 cubic meters, motor power 5KW, with less than 5 0m lift pump, flow of 10 cubic meters, motor power 5KW, so that the lift ratio measurement height is greater than 10-20%, on the same pump motor power next, the pump head is larger, less water. If the height of 50m is measured, the pump with 100m lift head is used, but what is the influence of the flow rate on the pump or pipe?.
- Q: 7.63Determine the isentropic efficency of a water pump when water enters as a saturated liquid at 96.5 kPa and exits at 5 MPa and 106 degrees C.Thanks
- the only way a water pump can damage anything is if it locks up or quits working and the engine overheats and stops running. If your car has overheated enough and blew all the water out of the endgine and the head gasket went bad there may be water in your oil it would look milky like it had a milkshake in the oil. If your oil is ok and the coolant is not blowing out the tailpipe in big white clouds obscuring the cars behind you the engine may be ok as long as it has not blown steam for the last 20 minutes out the radiato Coolant may leak from the bottom of the water pump too if the water pump is bad. If the engine starts up and runds good in the morning and does not blow a bunch of steam at you it may be ok for awhile yet.r.
- Q: (used in business units, cities in the North)1, how many watts, head M?2 is it fixed or removable?3, portable or heavy?4, how many units? What brand is good (Fire Department, or flood control command, often used brand, model)?5, diving?
- Do not know where to use, in case the the Yellow River burst, you might as well buy a boat
- Q: Water pump
- You okorder /
- Q: Please specify the reason, the more detailed the better, the head is the pump 1N fluid on the work done, when the flow rate increases, the shaft power increases, but it does not necessarily have to do with the head of the relationship
- When the power increases to a certain extent, can not be increased, so when the flow increases, the head can only be reduced
- Q: Could my problem be greater than a water pump or thermostat?
- I would suggest having the computer codes read. If it shows that the Temp sensor is reading too high, then yes, the cause could be from your water pump. Have the Codes read to be sure.
- Q: What is the average life of a water pump in a car?
- to many factors to consider such as: materials used for pump, pump design, the engine operator's driving habits. You could have had the wrong belt put on and that would effect pump life. There are just to many variables. I'd say over 60,000 easy. Most pumps come with LLT Warranties b/c you should only have to replace one once.
- Q: I was recently driving and noticed my heat gauge in the red. I have a 1992 Honda Accord 4 door LX. When I opened the hood what appears to be water was all over the place. Is this the water pump or something else? I want to fix it this weekend so I was hoping for a better understanding of what it might be. I am aware of the labor involved with the water pump and removing the timing belts to get to it. Thanks a bunch in advance!
- since you have aluminum heads im betting your head gaskets are blown if it got into the red. Those 4 bangers dont stand up to the heat well.
