6.Conditions of use
Pumps used in the following conditions should be continuously to work properly:
1. For water pumps suitable medium, medium temperature shall not exceed + 40°C
2. The medium PH value between 6.5 ~ 8.5
3. The volume of medium containing solid impurity is less than 0.1%, the size is not more than 0.2 mm
4. The power frequency 50 hz, voltage for single-phase 220 v, 380 v, three-phase voltage fluctuation range for rating of 0.9 to 1.1 times
5. Diving depth of no more than 5 m, is not suitable for irrigation and drainage of sewage and chemicals.
- Q:When should I replace my water pump ?

- Q:I had a re-manufactured water pump installed and after 14 months I started smelling my radiator occasionally. Never suspected the pump since my original pump lasted 60,000 miles and was still fine when they replaced it feigning quot;it is customary to replace water pump with timing beltwhen in actuality my Hyundai Elantra just needs the pump checked every 60,000 miles. The re-manufactured water pump was diagnosed leaking for sure after 20 months. Anyway I believe the leaking pump which didn't get discovered for at least 4 to 6 months caused the early demise of my radiator. Does that make sense?Thanks,Mitzi
- i strongly disagree. a leaky pump, loosing fluid, replaced by air via a recovery system, will create excess water jacket pressures. ergo, the radiator. even if it has air trapped in it. that excessive pressure, if the rad is marginal/old, can cause rad leaks. any seasoned mechanic out there has experienced a vehicle that had air in it, and be so hot as to charge the system. on some, you can actually here them go bang as water/coolant, flows into a part of the systems that has just air. that sends pressure shock waves through out the system. i've experience some so hot, they won't shut off. dieseling per say. ---------- EDIT, Michael sir. i'm an ex fighter jet hydraulic/pneumatic tech USAF. 40 yr auto mechanic. 5 yrs on Harley's (iron blocks). been dealing with the use of compressed fluids and gas for some time now. ex boeing employee on the 747 as well. i just don't ahve all that in my profile. mostly, i just let facts speak for themselves. weather or not an OP see's that is up to them. --------- pressure can built up faster than it can be bleed off in *some* cases. especially if it's a slow leak. those were generic statements. meaning, they are a possibility. not out of the realm of possibility, and would be far from the first time it ever happened, that a bad pump can cause other parts of the coolant system to malfunction. i've seen marginal rads, hoses, and even heater cores go as a result of over pressureazation of the water jacket. but i meant no disrespect here. i will delete my seasoned mechanic remark. simply stating i have seen/experienced, in the shop, over the years, many instances like what i stated. it's not impossible!!! i'll delete all this crap too if you delete your remark. how bout it? friends?

We don't want to run water out there because its too much trouble for the meter and everything, but someone said to get a water pump and pump the water from the pond and filter it and use it. I have no idea what all we need or what kind of pump to get. Helpp!
- There are many choices and lots of problems. You probably can use a small system with garden hose even depending on how much water you need. There are a lot of variables to define. How much water ie gallons per day? How far do you have to pump it? Is it uphill or downhill? What quality is the pond water? Filtering is a little harder but you should find in line systems or something on the web once you determine the flow rate etc. That may determine the rate you can pump at ie the filter capacity. Do you have electric? If not you need a gas setup pump or generator. What kind of storage tank are you going to pump water into? Sounds like your filter will be the big thing. If you pump 100 gal thats about two bathtubs full. If you pump that in 100 minutes that is 1 gallon per minute. Thats small. So if you can find a filter to do say 1 to 10 gpm and that type pump you can do two bathtubs or more in two hours or so. If you go to 10 gpm thats about the max for a garden hose. Thats more what you would want to spray from the system. Your filter is the key. How clean is the water? Then you need a pump for the flow rate and pressure that can go through the filter. City meter sounds easier now doesnt it?

- Dude's lengths are incorrect.. The short pump is 5-5/8'' long and the long neck pump is 7'' long . That's with a V belt short block chevy....

- this is what, five, six questions all about the same topic? I'm so confused. what does this mean, Should I wait for water to pump up to it? pump up to what? Could be a blockage in the telltale hose or nipple. Could be a blockage in the water jacket. Could be overheating for some other reason, (lean burning due to clogged carbs, inadequate oiling cause somebody forgot the oil, bad timing, etc.) and steam in the system is blocking the telltale. Forgot the water tube guide grommet and the water tube slipped off.

When I went out to change the filter on the pump I noticed a valve leaking...I went to check on it and noticed it had two settings if you will. one says System and the other says by pass if I move the lever to system the leak stops, if I move it back to bypass the leak continues...question is which one should I have it set on and what is the purpose?
- Okay, Adam, we also have a well and just put in a new one. The setting that says System means that the water is running through the filter. The setting that says by pass means that the water is NOT running through the filter. You will have water either way in your house (or you should). It is just either, it is running through the filter, or it is not. I hope I have helped. gram

- Short answer: At least 75,000 miles, even under extreme conditions. The main cause of water pump failure is bearing failure due to crud (mostly rust) mixed in with the water/coolant mixture pushed through your engine by the pump. Variables: If you did not have complete cooling system flush at the last pump's replacement, the new pump's life expectancy would be reduced, but not significantly. Many folks misdiagnose engine overheating and the appearance of coolant on their garage floor as pump failure. If we believe Click and Clack the Tappit Brothers (a.k.a. Tom and Ray Magliozzi) you did not actually get a new water pump a year and a day ago, but you did buy a tank of gas for the mechanic's ski boat. Take your car to a reputable mechanic's shop (referred by a happy customer or 6, or Angie's List), dress as a peasant and tell 'em the car was inherited by you after your parents died in a horrible fire. Bringing 4 screaming infants couldn't hurt, either. If you can't rent some kids, you may consider what many women do, but it involves removing any rings, wearing a low cut top, smiling a lot and repeatedly flicking your eye lids as you play with your hair...
