Q: The automotive machine shop who is working on my Corolla head and block said that one of the valves was severely burnt. What causes burnt valves???
What Is A Burnt Valve
Q: What are better valve cover gaskets for a car? Cork kind? Or the rubber kind? Or either rubber/cork kind?
that depends on what shape your valve covers are in. if the sealing flange is good and straight and not bent. then I would use cork as long as you don't over torque the bolts. But if you have a flange that is bent or wrinkled use the rubber ones, they will conform to the shape of the cover and you can tighten them a bit more. if you have a serious leak use the rubber kind. want a little racer trick. take a coke can and cut eight strips out of it that are half as wide as your gasket. place them at the corners of each cover don't go into the corner just up to it. this will help seal the corners better. but I still prefer cork to rubber.
Q: Is there any treatment available for a leaky heart valve?
yes. surgery. otherwise you'll have murmurs either all the time or occasionally depending on the leakiness. you must certainly see a doctor. there are no external treatment for this because protein will be used for muscle and other such things. your heart valves are formed while still fetal and grow with your body for about 30 years. repairs almost completely stop at 15 because stem cells are rareified. this is why scientists look into stem cell research. i cant remember who but the japanese fellow that cloned the first dog also started research into stem cells for the heart and was not only able to repair the hearts of frogs, sheep, mice, pigs, etc. but he also grew a fully functional human heart in a pig with all but O+ blood types. basically just talk to a doctor and poke around. your heart is literally vital. dont mess around or hold back for any reason. search until you are better.
Q: i have a 8v fiat punto...is it much work to add 2 valves to make it a 16v?
The number of valves used in an engine depends upon the design of the cylinder head. It may be possible to do a head swap of a 16v head onto a engine block that previously had an 8v head on it. - assuming that the blocks are of the same design. A piston change may also be required as well to make it work properly. All of this is big money , and would be cheaper to buy a complete 16v engine and transplant that as a complete unit , or trade the car and go buy a 16v Punto to begin with.
Q: 12 valve
Un plug the vacuum hose on top of the valve, loosen and remove the big tube nut on the bottom of the valve, I have found if you hit it sharply with a hammer 3 or 4 times before you try to loosen it won't break the valve off, once the tube nut is undone remove the 2 bolts holding the EGR valve to the intake manifold. Remove and discard the gasket and install the new valve in the reverse order. If the tube nut still won't come loose try heating it with a torch, if it's really rusted on you might have to replace the EGR tub along with the valve.
Q: I need a ball valve that when you shut it off it sends a signal to a light that indicates that it is off.
Shouldn't be a problem. all that's needed is a valve with elect contacts on valve stem. should be able to get one with two sets of contacts for on and off...
Q: hi friends i want to know about the calibration technque of foundation fieldbus based control valve by a analog source

Q: How do you remove a richdel sprinkler valve, when I turn the body of it, it doesn't unscrew, it just turns in place.
if the valve itself has gone bad, then you can actually replace it without haveing to remove it. richdells are now called irritrol valves. they are not that hard to replace the guts and top part of the valve. if you can find the same valve off the internet or a landscape store, just take apart the old one and replace the insides with the parts from the new valve, and replace the top piece with solenoid as well. if you cant find the same kind of valve, just dig up a nice hole and cut the pipes and replumb it. thats pretty easy too. the more room you have on the pipe to cut, the easier it will go. but richdells are now irritrols. the parts will be the same, just have a different label. ive seen the richdells last over 20 years though good luck and hope this helps
Q: What is a valve adjustment? I wanted to do one on my 1994 Honda civic ex cuz my friends told me I should do one but I wanted to know howmuch will it cost? And what will it do to my car in performance and gas consumption? My car right now has 155k miles.
Leave it alone. Besides at 155k a Civic is junk not worth spending money on.
Q: How would this affect the functioning of the heart valves? How would this be detected in a routine examination?
Endocarditis is usually caused by bacteria. When symptoms are prevalent, blood cultures are done to detect what sort of bacteria is present. Many types of bacteria can cause endocarditis. Normally, blood flows smoothly through heart valves. But if they have been damaged, by some other medical condition, defense mechanisms (such as white blood cells) cannot enter the valves. Then bacteria can have a chance to take a hold on these valves. So if bacteria establishes a hold on the valves, the body cannot get rid of them. Antibiotics can be used to treat the infection. If antibiotics does not work, then the infected valves are removed surgically and replaced with transplants or artificial valves. I hope this helps. good luck
