Introduction:
Tower Crane is a machinery used for vertical lifting and horizontal delivering of building materials and any other heavy items during construction process. It can lift and lay down, horizontally shift, and rotate, so the working range is very large. The whole body can be fixed or movable.
Features:
1. Hoisting Mechanism
Three-gear speed modulation by electrical motor or frequency conversion, giant winch.
2. Rotation Mechanism
Speed modulation with frequency conversion, stable break, accurate position,
3. Luffing Mechanism
Speed modulation with frequency conversion, less concussion, stable operation.
4 Control System
PLC control, auto diagnosis on electric malfunction, alarm of light and sound, international top brand key components.
5. Security & Protection
In addition to usual standard security mechanism, this model adopts self-developed advanced mechanism, such as unique double tighten mechanism on luffing steel cable, anti-break mechanism on sliding vehicle, anti-drop mechanism on standard section, speedy link between rotary body, hoisting boom and balance boom.
6. Structure
Mechanical-electrical integration design, CAD supported design, optimization design, modularization design. Steel structure have outstanding intensity, firmness and anti-fatigue capability.

- Q: A few years ago, my college decided to take down two multilevel dormitories. The demolition company decided to take it down piecemeal with a wrecking ball. The wrecking ball was attached to the crane via a very large tire (just the rubber part, not the inflatable part). I have seen this done on normal cranes and other wrecking balls on TV and was wondering if any professional construction people out there know why they would do this as to me, a guy not in the construction/demolition business, think that might be a bit unsafe.
- Shock absorption. The ball swings toward the building and hits, the energy of that swing is mostly dissipated into the building but also into the cable and cable connectors as the ball bounces back. That shock of the impact resonates and gets dissipated by the tire. It reduces wear and tear on the cable and cable connectors, also on the crane tower. Your car engine has motor mounts of the rubber type of material and it absorbs the resonating vibration of the engine. I have seen the cable connectors, interesting to say the least. The strands are interlaced sometime, and other times I see them clamped together. It would seem important to protect those joints. I do not know all of the crane business terminology, but that would be the gist of it.
- Q: I don't like the cranes that use a wired pulley systems for controlling the camera. The crane will need to carry a 7 pound camcorder.

- Q: Is boom truck a crane truck? Are they the same or two different kind of truck?
- A 'boom' is attached to a flat-bed truck and is used to unload a heavy delivery (usually building supplies and materials) to a specific location. A 'crane' is similar except that it doesn't unload things. It is attached to a truck and is used for moving heavy objects and materials from one place on another on the same property.

- The Whooping Crane (Grus americana) is a very large crane. It is the tallest North American bird and the only crane species found solely in North America. Adults are white; they have a red crown and a long, dark, pointed bill. They have long dark legs which trail behind in flight and a long neck that is kept straight in flight. Black wing tips can be seen in flight. Immature birds are pale brown. Their breeding habitat is muskeg; the only known nesting location is Wood Buffalo National Park in Canada and the surrounding area. They nest on the ground, usually on a raised area in a marsh. The female lays 1 to 3 eggs. Both parents feed the young. Usually no more than one young bird survives in a season. Loads more on Wikipedia (link below) - good luck

- Q: I swear I'm a giant crane fly magnet and whenever there are crane flies within a mile of me they'll find me and chase me, and I'm dead terrified of them. I noticed that there are more and more of them since the beginning of April. Does it have anything to do with the rain? When will they go away?
- Oh really? It should go away on its own, lol. It's possible that the rain is confusing their sense of smell.
