Q:Tomorrow I will be laying porcelain tile in my kitchen and need help in figuring out how to cut a hole in the tile for the floor vent? Any input would be appreciated.
I've done this: I've used an angle grinder to cut a rectangle in one bathroom tile. Straight cuts are easy using an angle cutter and a diamond wheel designed for cutting tile. I've even cut a round hole for the commode. But the commode had a tile seam under it, so I wasn't cutting a hole in the middle of a tile, I was able to cut and nibble away until I had a semi-circle in each tile. Just make sure you have more tile than you need. If (when) you make a mistake you have more to work with. And don't try to accomplish the entire cut all at once. Take little passes at it until you work your way through. Hope this helps. 'av'a g'day mate. '')
Q:Is laying the self stick tile good for a kitchen
From personal experience, I don't reccomend them in ANY room. If one tile gets chipped or cracked, any little bit of water gets under it, your doomed!
Q:Kent has a 2-ft by 2-ft square floor to cover with tiles. He has 38 tiles. Twelve of the tiles are 4-inch by 4-inch squares, ten are 4-inch by 8-inch rectangles, and the remaining 16 are 2-inch by 8-inch right triangles. What is the smallest number of pieces Kent can have left over after covering the floor? Please show your work if possible (like steps etc) You can solve it as a Geometry or in Algebric way which ever works for you. Thankyou To All That Solves!
Havn't been in an Math class in 4 years now... I'm saying 4 - 4x4 squares will be the smallest amount possible. 16 2x8 right triangles would be the same as 8 2x8 rectangles that = 128 inches, from the 2ftx2ft Square would leave 448 inches. the 10 4x8 rectangles would be 320 inches, leaving 128 inches to fill 8 of the 12 4x4 squares would equal exactly 128 inches and would leave 4 4x4 squares with all area filled. Sounds good, might be missing somthing though.
Q:I am remodeling a small bathroom only 39sq ft. I had someone come out and give me an estimate, he brought a sample of a job he did and tried to sell me on that design, which will NOT complement my existing fixtures, since my existing fixtures are fairly new, I decided to reuse those to save me money. Anyways, this sample he brought me used 16in tiles, since my bathroom is so small, I think huge tile will make it seem even smaller and claustrophobic, I was thinking 1in-4in tiles, but this guy insists that large tile will make the small bathroom seem larger, is there any truth to this? Also, what is a good price to pay, I want the tub replaced, the tile around the tub, replace the small window, flip the sink and toilet so that the sink sits where the toilet is at and the toilet where the sink is, maybe re-tile the floor. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ceramic tiles are a great choice for remodeling your bathroom. You'll find a lot of opinions on tile size. Some people might recommend a smaller ceramic tiles for tile flooring in a small bathroom, but ultimately the decision is yours. You might want to consider asking for samples of several different sizes and bringing them in your bathroom to see how they look. Seeing a sample in your home might make all the difference. I'll post a link to our site below, where you can find a great selection of ceramic tile flooring. Hope that helps! Have a great day.
Q:What kind of ceramic tile?
Polished tiles: polished tiles is polished after the polished polished brick. In contrast to the roughness of the whole body bricks, polished tiles will be more clean. The hardness of this brick is very high, very wearable. In the use of infiltration technology on the basis of polished tiles can make a variety of imitation stone, imitation wood effect. Classification can be divided into seepage type polished tiles, fine powder type polished tiles, multi-tube fabric polished tiles, microcrystalline stone. Scope In addition to the bathroom, kitchen, the rest of the majority of indoor space can be used. Features: quintana brick polished after polished tiles, the hardness of this brick is very high, very wearable. Tiles: tiles are made of quartz sand, mud in accordance with a certain percentage of firing, and then polished bright but do not need to polish, the surface as smooth as the glass mirror translucent, is the hardest of all the tiles. Tile in the water absorption, edge straightness, bending strength, acid and alkali resistance are better than ordinary glazed tiles, polished tiles and general marble. But the tiles are not perfect, it is the flaw after grinding, the pores exposed, dust, oil and other easy to penetrate. The classification is mainly floor tiles. Belong to a kind of polished tiles. Scope of application Tile for the living room, bedroom, walkway and so on.
Q:How can you cover ugly wall tiles??
just tear them off and out up some wall paper, if you cannot do that for whatever reason jst put some your fav posters on the wall to cover them up
Q:→ tile background wall is good tiles background wall renderings
4, easy to return to the tide: in many parts of China, especially the southeast coast and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is particularly serious, but also has a certain radiation. You can try the cloud era of integrated walls, green building materials as the source and design energy-saving materials, and access to a number of national honor. "Integrated wall" is a decoration material, its advantages relative to the market in other wall treatment materials are significantly different, the service life is also higher than other wall materials.
Q:My new home has a kitchen with glazed ceramic tiles covering most of the walls. The colour is basically honey brown, but there‘s a hideous purple border (in the same tile size shape) running horizontally vertically all over the place - I‘d say that 20% of the tiles are this colour.I want to reduce all the tiles to one (new) colour. Two guys (both pros) have this to say:GUY 1: Cheapest solution (and least noisy/disruptive) is to use a ‘glass enamel paint‘ over the tiles. I went online and found several manufacturers of this stuff.GUY 2: Scoffed at this and said there was no other way than retiling the whole kitchen.Guy 1 is adamant that it can be done, and the job will last if enough care is taken in preparing the surface. Is he right?Has anyone tried this ‘re-enamelling‘ technique, and were the results OK?Thanks!
Just my 2 cents. A couple of months ago I saw a bathroom with painted tile and it looked really different. It looked really cheap. I think you would be disappointed if you spent the time and money to paint the tiles.
Q:How to look at the quality of tiles
Not a professional to buy tiles, as long as the attention of tiles glazed light, flat, slippery, delicate, color should be clear, the pattern should be uniform, percussion to crisp (cooked), the size to be consistent. I see that Bacheng is a good tiles.
Q:I want to replace the existing ugly linoleum/vinyl floor in my bathroom with tile. With the right information and tools, I don‘t see why I can‘t do it myself. Any ideas on the pros and cons of different types of tile? What‘s least likely to get scratched, and what is least likely crack and need to be replaced? Which is easiest to clean, etc.? I‘m not crazy about a rough feel or look to the tile. So, I‘m thinking of glazed ceramic or polished stone. Also, my bathroom is very small. I wouldn‘t need to use more than 35-40 square feet of tile. Do you think 12x12 size tiles would look too big? Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated!
There are some quite nice ceramic styles but for the classy look you desire i think it can only be acheived with natural stone/marble. it is true that marble can stain as it is porus but if it is sealed correctly it should be ok, but you need to polish and reseal every few years to prevent staining. i fit bathrooms for a living and have taken out marble that is 15 years old that only looks tired because the choice of colour has dated not because of staining etc. but believe me stone looks so much better , go to your local tops tiles and look at the displays of ceramic tile then go to the stone tile show room just to browse and i think you will 'feel' the difference. good luck and i hope the bathroom turns out nice.
