Q: i hate the wired controllers. they all get tangled: Yes, sony makes all the Dual shock controllers wired. Katana game accessories offers the best wireless controller available for the ps2. Wireless (2.4 GHz), has the Sony playstation symbol on it, vibrations, same look, reasonably priced for the most durable wireless controller available. Best buy offers this controller for $25.99, only 2 dollars more than Sony brand. I own 2 of them, and no problems to report. Takes 3 AAA batteries.

Q: the 2 wires that is connected from the key hole is cut .. how to fix or replace?: If there enough wire left on each side of the cut, say 1, then you could bear about 1/4 of the wire on each side and solder the wires back together making sure you are soldering the same wires together and wrap each soldered connection in electrical tape so they are not able to touch each other. Then a final wrap of tape around them both. If you are not up to soldering you could go to an auto parts shop and get a crimp connector to do the job, again bearing of wire is needed to get a contact through the cut area. If the cut is closer to the switch then there is no option but to replace the switch.....

Q: the wires are all cut off. which 2 do i connect and which is which and what is what?: Starting with the Instrument panel fuse 20amp, wire is yellow (+) coming from fuse block to the cigarette lighter. Coming out of the lighter is the black (-). If you have a test light find the yellow wire, turn the ignition on to accessories and with the test light grounded the light should come on. Then find the black wire connect the two. If you still can’t get it you can run a 12 gauge wire from the cigarette lighter fuse and then run a separate 12 gauge wire to a good ground on the car. If you are messing with live wires try not to let them arc. If your not getting any power check your fuses. Or don’t smoke.

Q: I have a wire coming up from my basement that has 3 wires (red, green and yellow). I want to connect cat5 wire to that (twisting the wires together) and run the cat5 to an RJ45 box. What's my diagram going to look like?: Cat5 requires 4 wires (two pairs) - you cannot use old telephone wire. second, if the old phone was was 2 pair, you still could not use it. Cat5 is good to just over 300MHz. The old voice grade JK cable could not transfer data very fast. Just use the old phone wire as a pull. Connect a new run of Cat6 to the old wire and pull the new wire into place using the old wire as a pull string.

Q: I am trying to hook up my motorcycle turn signals but am having trouble with the wiring. Off of each signal stem comes a red wire (positve) and black wire (negative). Then coming form my bike I have a purple wire, blue wire, and green wire. I was messing around with the connections and was able to get all my signals to light up, but not in the fashion i need, like blinking correctly. Any suggestions? Do I need to split the wires? Does one wire go to the left signal and one to the right?: Does the flasher work? Are you using two filament bulbs? The green wire is a ground. The blue and purple sound like HD wiring, one is for blinkers, and one for running lights.

Q: I am wiring a sony xplod amp up in my car and need to know what the skinny blue wire goes to. Any help would be appreciated.: Run a fused (1 amp, 14 AWG) wire from a fuse in the fuse panel that only has power when the car is ON to one side of a switch. From the other side of the switch run the same sized wire to the REM (remote) connection on the amp. This allows for full control and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the amp. The switch is so you can turn off the amp at will so as not to give grandma a heart attack in the car. You can find fuse taps and in-line fuse holders at any autoparts store.

Q: I have a 2 wire system in my garage and need to update to a 3 wire grounded plug. Can I leave my existed 2 conductor and just run a single 12 gauge insulated ground in the same conduit back to the panel/grounding rod. Or do I need to pull out the 2 wore replace with 3 wire ?: By the N E C the ground wire is part of the cable, just adding a ground will not do what the code requires, unless there is a local variance.

Q: Replacing my 3 prong dryer outlet but there is a blk, red, wht, and a bare wire in the box. I know where the colored ones go on the outlet but what do I do with the bare one? I didn't remove the old one so I don't know how the old 3 prong outlet was wired with these wires. If the wall box is metal the ground needs to attach there as well. Then replace the cord on the dryer to match that configuration. Most dryers are 220/240 volt 30 amps. * Now you are in compliance with current National Electric Code standards and your insurance company will thank you. (well not really, but it sounds good)
