- I'm not sure what your connecting. However a in-line volume control on a headphone cable won't make the headphones any louder. It will only control the volume. If you want the headphones to be louder you could get a headphone amp (they usually have there own volume control) and use that more efficiently. I use a audio device with a higher output, so I use a In-line volume control to lower the volume into the recording device. (Just for thoughts)

- Q:I have a 90 Chevy 4wd with 5.7l and 700r4 tranny. Apparently I am not getting 12v power down to the torque converter via the wiring. My question is - what controls it? Is it involved in the switch on the brake pedal or is it electronically controlled somehow. Will it be easier to run 12v down to it and use a toggle switch to lock it when doing highway driving in OD? Any info on a temporary or permanent repair helpful!

- Q:I am asking this bcos I bought new LCD just 2 weeks ago and when I hooked my TV with cable box through AV cable I got the bursting sound. I thought it is bcoz of bad speakers then I exchange my LCd and unfortunately I have the same problem with the new TV. - Hi, Hey what not use your stereo to listne to you tv's sound. Yes, yours blew up because the volume was too high on the box for very low wattage speakers on your LCD. If you have a stereo with about 150 watts output, you could reduce the volume on your cable box and put the volume up on your stereo. Check to see if your stereo has got audio in. If it does connect the cable box's audio out L and R directly to stereo and use the tv just for the video. Good Luck!

- HiMake sure you have the latest driver for your video card. Resolution and sound settings should be in whatever program the card uses. Use your mouse and keyboard to access them and make sure the cable is not faulty and is the correct type.

- Q:I got a new plasma tv so I replaced my LCD tv and hooked up my tivo to the plasma and only get basic cable channels. My premium channels or anything above 99 does not come in. If I switch on a higher channel it goes to what I had on previously. Tivo hooked to AV1, TV to composites. If I switch to composite I get all my channels. If I go to tivo side only the basic comes in. I checked my hookup and it is all good. I tried to do guided setup again and it worked for a bit, but then it reverted back to the basic. I do get Cox advanced channels as well as HBO and only will come in when I switch to composite view. I need the TIVO side for taping purposes and would really like to tape my higher cable channels if at all possible. I have a Scientific Atlantic 4240HDC cable box. Please help, I am losing what I have left of my mind trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance.
- Hard to answer since there is not enough info. It sounds like you have a series 2 Tivo box that works in conjunction with your cable box. It should be hooked up like this. Cable from the wall to the cable box. Composite cable output from the cable box to the Tivo input. Composite cable from the Tivo output to the TV input. Set up the IR blaster so the Tivo will control the cable box. Make sure the input on the TV is correct like channel 3 or AV1 etc. If, by chance you own a newer Tivo (Series 3, TivoHD etc.), then these Tivos replace the cable box. You don't use these Tivos with the cable box. You will need a cablecard from the cable company in order to receive the higher number channels. It goes in the slot in the back of the Tivo. You are not receiving the higher channel numbers on the Tivo is because those channels are digitally encrypted by the cable company. You need a cable box or a cable card in order to decrypt those channels.
