The engine brake cable would be considered the Control cable. Traction would be for the drive wheels of self propelled lawn mowers.

Q:I have a big fancy HDTV, but i don't know how to make the controller control my cable. I have comcat, and I have to grab the little comcast cable remote to change the channels. The tv remote changes the physical tv channels, but it needs to stay on 3 to play cable so it doesn't help. My dad has his tv set so the remote changes the volume of the tv with his remote but when you hit the channel button it changes the cable, so that's the setup I would like. ps: if you actually read this whole paragraph, put a 1 at the end of your answer.

Big fancy HDTV isn't very specific. Your TV remote may not even be capable of operating your cable box, and if it is, the procedure for programming it will vary by brand. First look at the remote and see if it has a Cable button. If not, it probably can't operate the cable box. If it can, you would have to read the owner's manual to get the programming procedure. Your cable remote almost certainly will operate the TV. That's how i would approach the problem myself. Again, you would need to consult the manual, in this case the manual for the cable remote. If you don't have a hard copy you can probably find one on your cable provider's web site. Or you can call customer service. 1

Q:I want to install a fan with dimmable lights. I don't mind a standard wall switch (on-off). What I want is to have a remote control so I can control the lights separate from the fan. The ceiling box only has black and white cables. Will it be possible to have this done or do I have to run a red wire down to the switch? Thank you.

Yes but you would have to buy a remote controlled fan to do the dimming of lights and have separate fan control

Q:I bought some HMDI cables for my laptop and when I hook it up to my Plasma TV it won't output the sound. Does anyone know how to do it from settings on the laptop? first make sure your cable can output audio. some older hdmi cables dont. second, go to control panel then hardware and sounds then click on sound it should bring up a menu that shows your audio devices. disable whatever your using currently (so my computer says Speakers, Realtek High Definition Audio) by right clicking on it and then enable HDMI (my computer says ATI HDMI Output), again right click on it and click enable. this is how its done on windows 7.

Q:hi anybody who can help ive fitted a kenwood stereo in replacement of my factory fitted tape stereo i still want to use the steering wheel remote control as it doesnt work now.do i need a code? adapter? plug osmething in? all help appreciated cheers

Yeah it can be done, but you need a 'Control Stalk' cable (the name may vary! I've come across a few names for these cables). Basically, there was a cable which connected from your steering wheel to your old stereo (which allowed you to control it), and now there is nothing to connect this cable to your new stereo. So what you need it: A control stalk specific for your car (Renault Clio 05for example) and then a Kenwood control stalk adapter. The car-specific cable will plug in to the existing cable which once plugged in to your old stereo, and the Kenwood cable will plug in to your Kenwood headunit. You will then connect these 2 cables together and hey presto!

Q:i have been thinking about getting google tv. actually i have been tossing up apple vs. google tv (any suggestions?) but also i was looking into google tv and it said it works like the best with DISH but does it work on ANY cable provider? even a small town provider? mine is called selco.

Yes it works with cable. Just not as good as it works with dish. If all you want is Netflix, Apple TV and Roku box are better. If you want some more choices check Boxee Box. I like all these others choices I mentioned better than have to deal with a Chrome browser on the big screen. But if you want to surf the web from your TV then Google TV is the way to go.

Usually blowing fuses comes from a wire that makes a bad connection on metal but your problem could actually be with the ground cable itself and it could be with a battery cable that is just to small and last but not least your amp could be shot.

Just a thought from a breakdown within my head. The cable would have mounted either nearer the handle from the fulcrum of the lever or on the other side of the handle from the fulcrum of the lever(when you push the lever forward with it above it pulls the cable forward while if the cable was mounted below it would push the cable backwards. My guess is something is backwards in that regard. Just what I could put together from my imagination of how your system works.
