Q: How come the volume power button on my cable tv remote won't control my tv? Tv is hooked up to a DVR. The problem isn't with the DVR, or the cable remote. I don't have the original remote for the t.v. Thanks!: In the manual there should be a certain code for programing your remote to the t.v. E.g. you would press like tv 34 or something to program the remote to work for a jvc tv. It should be in the cable/ dvr manual. You wont need the remote for the tv.

Q: 1986 camry 4 cyl 2.0 the cable coming from the transmission that controls shifting: uasally there is a tab squeeze style on the side of the top of the cable if you depress the tab with a screwdriver hold it and push it in untill it all the way back the tab should stay in then have someone help by getting in the car and pushing the gas pedal straight to the floor the cable should se it self if then its not right its faulty but you can still use it count the level it came out by the knotches then try going back one at a time if its not starting to work try going back then go forward one at a time this has worked for me in the past if you stick to it you will get it good luck

Q: I have a 1996 Dodge Avenger 2.0L 4 cyl, 5 speed. Recently I was driving and I noticed the engine heat was way up, pulled over and the cruise control cable was melted. We replaced the thermostat, radiator hose, and the cruise cable. We started it back up today and the heat was only at about halfway, but the cruise cable was really hot and melting once again. We shut the engine off and moved the cable around, it started sparking. The cable seems to be getting fried by something electrical. The cruise control was not operatable before, but recently the buzzer for when the door is opened or lights are left on, doesn't sound like its suppose to. It seems to be something electrical, but what could be causing the cruise cable to melt like that?Thanks for your help: you have an electrical short in the cruise control module

Q: I own a 81 Buick Riviera w/ 307 v-8 can I bypass the cc transducer and go straight to the speedometer without changing the actual mph reading. Keep breaking the upper and lower cables and think it my be the transducer causing this problem. When the cables were working the speedometer was jumping back and forth before the cables broke.: If you can get the correct length cable that goes straight from trans to speedo head, do it.

Q: I recently acquired a cable box along with the remote controller. I have cable and I have another legitimate cable box that was installed by the cable company. What should I do to get this box to work with the functioning cable that I have on a separate TV?: Cable boxes have to be authorized by your cable company.
