- Q: Has anyone every used Ceramic Tiles to re-do bathroom floors? I‘ve seen it done on HGTV but just wanted to knw if it was really that easy?
- If you buy a good tile cutter , take your time and use spacers it is pretty easy. It takes a few days because you have to let it dry good before grouting. Then you need to let the grout dry for at least one day before you seal it .IT MUST BE SEALED . Or all your work will be for not. If it is your first time I would suuggest using smaller tiles, easier to cut. And NEVER start in a corner!
- Q: I live in a split level 3 story house, the outside of my house is concrete, the walls inside are concrete and the floor is tile. Several weeks ago the tile in our laundry room cracked, as if something was pushing up from underneath. This morning the exact same thing happened in our top story living room. We had tilers come out to re-tile and they said that this happens all the time, but the concrete underneath the tile was untouched and un-warped in any way. Please help? - Go to Home Depot, you will be able to find someone that works there and they will show you a wide variety of ceramic tiles. You would probably find what you are looking for or either you would see something you like. Let the professionals handle the work.

- I would go for a mix, either through the very small tiles, or through a stone that combines tones from all of the above. Given that you have white cabinets and a lot of light greys you don't want to go too dark, but adding some of the burgandy and various shades of gray and beiges would look nice. I like the smaller tiles, not just because they are easier to install, but because there is a lot of variety out there so that you can mix and match easily. They may cost a bit more than something you pick up off the shelf, but in the end it is not that much considering an overall kitch remodel.

- tile trust me two kids of my own and they spill stuff all the time so I would go with tile and if you wont to get a orianal rug to lay on the floor as the kids get older you can opt for carpet good luck

- Keep the tiles and change the grout color instead since its cheaper to change the grout its a great way to make the tiles work for you... If you choose to paint use the same paint that you would use for the tub..There are drawbacks to painting. you will not get a nice finish unless you use the proper brush.. or roller..

- Q: Does floor tile give a lot of heat? I want to get a tile substrate for my leopard gecko, but I don‘t know if it will get warm enough for him. I have an under tank heater, so if I put the tile in will the heat from the under tank heater block or go through the tile?
- I put a little layer of sand under my tiles to fill up any air spaces under the tiles (as they're textured to hold grout). Tiles heat up and hold heat a LOT better than pretty much any other substrate. If you want some really neat tiles, try slate. They are really natural, come in awesome colors naturally and hold heat just as well as other tiles. But there are some really nice ceramics, too. Just don't get anything overly glazed.
