- This is dependant on the motherboard used in the laptop. Many low to mid budget laptops have the vga card as part of the mobo and not removeable. What laptop is it? To be more specific, most Dell, HP, Toshiba, Samsung, Lenovo's etc have a built in vga card to the mobo and not replaceable.

- depends on the make of the laptop usually the graphic card is incorporated in the motherboard as is the processor. It is recommended not to open the laptop, as you might not be able to put it back together. A lot of screws might be left extra. Usually you need to remove the battery, then unscrew the keyboard and under it you will see the motherboard. Unplug all the extra modules and then unscrew the motherboard.

- Desktop by far yea laptop can be Handier but its more expensive for parts/replace/fix its not near as durable, and cannot come close to efficiency of a desktop. Desktop's can be made how u want them just by buying a small part and installing it, laptops cannot be customized as easily
