- Sony has a good reputation and the build quality is excellent, but you should also consider other brands - there are dozens of them - Acer, HP, Dell, Samsung, Lenovo, Asus all have good names and make quality products. Laptop keyboards and track-pads vary enormously, so if this is important TRY before you BUY Will I use it outdoors? - screen resolution is important, and many laptops are difficult to see in daylight. - Laptops tend to run hot because it's 10lbs of material stuffed into a 5lb sack and there is very little airflow. The higher temps cause the components to fail more quicklyEspecially hard drives. Some stuff is heatsinked to the case, so a cooling pad that pulls heat from the case can help keep the internal temps down. It was a much worse problem with older designs, though. Newer stuff has better thermal management and the processors and memory and such are much lower power which lets them run cooler. A cooling pad could potentially increase the life of the laptop, but the laptop will likely be obsolete before long before it suffers thermal failure. For a hard surface like a desk or table it may be better to just let it sit on its little legs. A lap desk is a good idea for actual lap usage and some even come with fans that can plug into the laptop.

- There's a couple of things you can do to find out if your laptop has bluetooth: 1) Search around on the outside of the laptop for a switch. It always has the bluetooth icon next to it, so it's easy to spot (watch the link to see what the icon looks like). Make sure that switch is turned on, else the computer can't find any devices. 2) Hit start and type bluetooth in the search bar. If there's any bluetooth capabilities, there should pop up an icon about it right there. 3) Search for your laptop model on google and look for the specifications there. There might be some more info about bluetooth capabilities of your laptop online. 4) If all else fails, you can always go to the store who sold the laptop to you and ask if it has bluetooth.
