- The panels themselves efficiency are 5 to 8 percent at converting sun energy to electicity currently.But as what you said above,the conversion efficienc is about 70%，so a KW solar panel can produce 3.5KW in 5 hours,The solar panels of China are compared comparably to other contries.The highest efficiency of 24% is rare,they are not widely avaliable.

Now once you're speaking approximately actually in basic terms utilising image voltaic power i.e. letting water sit down outdoors until the solar warms it up... Then I see no actual benefit to it as a results of fact it will not at all have the skill to warmth water on your needed temperature and it will take way too long.
- Q: i have a 2v 2a solar panel that i want to use to charge a 2v battery .Have found out that i need a charge controller so i don't over charge the battery.I have found a cheep one its 2v but 7a will it still work ?All-so im planing on running a 2v water pump off the battery with a timer,its for watering my garden.Will the timer have to be 2v as well ?any help on this would be greatly appreciated thanks .
- The charger will accept whatever current is necessary from the solar panel up to 7A. It's not like the solar panel will force 2amps into the charger/battery -- the charger will control the current going to the battery. I question whether or not the 2V panel will actually charge the battery, though, because in order to charge a standard lead-acid 2V battery you need to have about 4.5 volts applied to the terminals. Perhaps the charger has a boost circuit -- I don't know without looking at it or knowing the brand/model number, etc. The timer must be 2VDC, but, if you only have a timer that is rated for 20VAC, you can buy a small inverter that will take 2V and supply the necessary 20VAC. An inverter rated for 20 to 50 Watts should be sufficient. These usually cost under US$25. .

- I'm guessing that each of those solar cells is just 0.5 volt at max power, so if you make a 2-inch square panel, you will get 2 volts - not enough for the inverter. A car inverter is notoriously inefficient, but it would work if you connect it to a 2-volt battery. You cannot generally connect such an inverter to solar panels alone. The battery supplies the peak current that the inverter needs, and the panel charges the battery. To charge a 2-volt battery, you will want 36 cells, generally, which give you an 8-volt panel. You can buy an inexpensive charge controller somewhere. If your laptop will run off 2 volts directly, you can skip the inverter and be much more efficient. Or if the laptop runs of (say) 9 volts, you can use about 40 cells to get 20 volts, get the proper power plug from Radio Shack, and plug the panel directly into the laptop.
