Q: is it possible to split the live wire feeding my car stereo into 3 feeds so one is my stereo , two is my satnav power cable and the 3rd is my reversing sensor display. will this overload the wires? any advice how i can do this would be most helpful. thanks
I'm assuming you mean the wire providing the 12-volt power to your radio? And you want to connect other unit's it? It all depends on how much current is drawn by the additional units. Do they have fuses? What sizes are they? Backup cameras usually draw very little current and have really thin wires. Shouldn't be a problem. What type of navigation device? Does it use a DVD-ROM or is it just on a chip, like a portable Tom Tom, Garvin, etc.? If neither of the units' fuses exceed 5 amps, I'd say you're safe (in most cars) running it from the radio's power wire. However, you didn't state the type of car. Late-model GM cars or Audi/Volkswagen have low-current radio wires that use computers. They are known as data bus or can bus systems. I'd avoid connecting to these.
Q: i bought a 650w power supply for my pc because i bought a graphic card that needs 550w. So my question is will my regular power cable which came with my computer work on the new 650w power box.P.S- my computer is a 300w
Yes. it is the same cable that comes with every computer, printer, monitor. OK it's the same cable that comes with 95% of them
Q: My internet went down after a lightning storm. My cable modem is completely unresponsive and won't even power up, but everything else on the power strip is fine. So I am assuming the surge came through the coaxial. Someone suggested that the cable might fry any new modem I put on it, but that sounds off to me.Do I need to replace the coaxial, or will it be safe to just replace the modem?
No, it's not likely the coaxial cable, it's likely just the modem that went bad. In fact, the modem itself might be fine, you may just need to replace its power brick. Call up the modem's manufacturer and ask them if they can't send you a new power brick for it. It's not unusual that only one thing on a powerstrip went bad, it might have been the first thing in series on that power strip, and it took the brunt of the lightening strike, saving all of the rest of the items on that power strip.
Q: I have vtech 5.8 phones that you plug in to the electric socket. It is also connect to the internet. So if the power goes out so does the phone. What phone can you get the will work if the power and cable goes out
plug your phone into the UPS on your computer. This will keep the phone working for a couple minutes, but the internet access may go away too. What you need to keep the phone working is a traditional land line, a traditional phone used for power failure. Even in big businesses that use a PBX or eKSU, we install power fail phones. SOME Vtech phones have a slide out drawer in the base unit where you can charge a battery. This will keep the base unit working without power.
Q: I am thinking about buying a hard drive and a SATA to eSATA cable to get more space to store things but I dont know whether or not the eSATA cable supplies power to the hard drive like a USB port. Do I have to buy a power cable for the hard drive or will it work without one?
as far as i know you dont need anything but a SATA cable and it will power up.
Q: Hi,I have a second-hand Antec NeoHE 550 power supply and I'd like to find a cable for it. I can't seem to find it on the Internet though. The cable is pictured here (the second from the left)On one end it has a 6-pin PSU connector and on the other end, it's a *female* 4-pin Molex connector. It is not a PCI-E cable.I'd like to know where I can buy one, I don't even know what to look for on Google. Thanks a lot!
Cable thickness is there for a reason. The extra contemporary something makes use of, the thicker the cable. i'm beneficial you ought to probably replace the cable with the different cable, yet a smaller cable will warmth up extra truly, rather if compressed in with many cables in a cable administration device. you probably can, yet should you??
Q: I just bought an electric guitar and an Ibanez Ibz10g 10 watt amplifier. I read the reviews for the amp and someone said it only comes with the power cable.1. Is this true?2. If so will I be able to play with just a power cable or do I have to buy other cables separately? This is probably a stupid question but I seriously have no idea what cables are required for electric guitar. I ordered it from OKorder yesterday and couldn't find any details about what it comes with.
The diagram is the important part, it just explains where the cable goes. Good luck! :)
Q: I just bought a new computer, a DELL Inspiron 530. It has none of the older 4-pin power cables from the power supply; only the newer SATA power devices. I have an older hard drive, that connects via IDE cables (the gray ribbon). Ive already bought the card that converts the IDE to SATA, and it is connected to the mother board. Here is the problem: the IDE Hard Drive is powered with the 4-pin power supply that Ive seen on EVERY power supply before this one. The IDE to SATA converter came with an extension for that 4-pin power supply. But the power supply in the tower DOESNT HAVE ANY 4-PIN POWER ADAPTERS. It has one free SATA power. Im looking to take the SATA power from my power supply, convert it to the old-style IDE 4-pin power supply (female) and plug it into the 4-pin extension (male) that powers my hard drive and SATA-IDE converter. Most converters go the other way... Please post links with examples of parts, since I cannot find anything that lets me do what I am looking to
The SATA motherboard uses probably ATX or MicroATX. These are motherboard independant, but for SATA drives you need a SATA power adapter (it converts the 4 wire MOLEX into a flat SATA power cable). Most SATA drives come with this or even the motherboard does. if your power supply is ATX and your Motherboard is ATX then it will work (granted the wattage is enough for all your devices).
Q: It's the newest ps2 (the thin ps2) I have all cables. Except the power cable isn't the official power cable. Is that a problem?
It's impossible to tell if it's your PS2 or the cable. Best bet is you buy an original PS2 power cable and try it out. If the PS2 still doesn't power up, it's something wrong with your PS2 and you will have to get it repaired or buy a new one.
Q: ok so i opend up my machine, and i bassicly took apart the processor and removed the dail up pci card thingy, then i put it all back together and i also took off the case, which meant removing all case power leads, quot;power SWand power led etc. but i put them all in the same place i took them out, well i think i did, theres so many different slots it they could go into, it would take at least 500 attempts to find the right slots for all, not to mention the fact i might blow the board. so has anyone got the manual for this motherboard. or no where to find an online one. cus i need to know where to plug them in. thanks
With maximum motherboards there is purely one thank you to attach the flexibility cable to the board, otherwise it purely wont in effective condition. i think there's a splash notch on the cable which ought to line up with the notch on the board
