Q:Hello! I was wondering if Vacuum cleaners get rid of germs. I mean, when I think about it, doesn't it probably suck all the germs up? Perhaps it may not kill germs, but it at least gets rid of them on a particular surface(like the carpet.)And if they don't get rid of germs, than how can I get rid of germs on the carpet? I know that Steam Cleaning and shampooing the carpet are good measures, but I don't want to do that on like a weekly basis. I am looking for something that can get rid of germs at least once a week.: a vacuum will suck up things like dust mites and other irritants. but if you are thinking about germs then no. the best defense for germs is basic soap and water. but you are right. who wants to wash their carpet every week. also it isn't good for your carpet unless you live in the south and it is summer. that way it will dry completely in just a few hours. there are a few things that come to mind here. you can use a typical disinfecting spray like lysol. or you can use a damp mop and go over the carpet. that also helps with allergens. over all there really isn't much germs in carpet. sun light kills alot of germs. and if you are truly worried about it. then wood floors are always nice.

Q:rainbow D4SE: Yes, any one selling vacuum cleaners door to door will take any old vacuum in trade. Remember though that these people work on high mark up and in turn high commission. Hold out on making a quick sale to get your best deal. Many people are ripped off by door to door sales people who are desperate to make a sale. A fair commission is ok, as every one is entitled to make a living.

Q:Is Dyson the best vacuum or are the bagged vacuum still actually clean better, we just put in laminate hardwood floors last year and this year we are replacing all the carpet and want it to last!: the bagged vacuum cleaners work ok but it is trying to finding the bags when they stop making that model. a good vacuum last at least 5 to 7 years. i personally went for the Eureka pet fresh. 1 for the pet attachment. 2.) the cost because i have family members that don't respect the tools needed for cleaning the house. and 3.) the biggest on of all more suction power it is still 12 amps but when you put the pet adapter on it is turbo...people think i am odd but it works. i am a female male i want my power tools to work and kick butt. i don't have time to clean with half as tools. 4.) finally it has no bags it does have filters, I find having a bag less vacuum i can clean it monthly and it does not have any issues and i do empty the container after every vacuum use. the Dyson is my goal. and oh yes the Eureka is heavy

Q:I don't know much about vacuum cleaners. My vacuum cleaner isn't working now. I changed the filter, but it does not pick up the stuff on the carpet. I vacuum over it and it doesn't pick it. I don't know what is wrong with it. I think our last vacuum cleaner may have done that and we just got a new one. What is wrong? Is there a vacuum repair person that fixes vacuum cleaners? Where do i go for that sort of thing?: If it's an upright with instant hand wand. Step on release and let top rest on the floor, remove the hand wand, clean the tube the wand came out of carefully, with a hanger. The hose the wand is on can also clog too. I could give you more help if I knew what type of vacuum it is.
