- Q: Hello Yahoo People!! :)I am willing to buy a Power Supply for my Ati Radeon HD 6870 which needs two 6-pin connectors and I don't have enough money to buy a PSU with two 6-pin connectors because they are too expensive! So I need help on two things:_______________________________________________________1)I want to know of a good power supply with one 6-pin connector.2)If i plug one 6-pin connector to the GPU (Which comes with the PSU) and another 4-pin to 6-pin adapter would that be okay? If not why? I mean will it affect the performance to the GPU or is it dangerous? (This is my question)3)And I need to know of a good PSU Brand but not so expensive! below ?35.00. (If u guys know of good offer on only Argos .uk or Amazon .uk Please tell me!_______________________________________________________Thank U!! :)
- 1. If your radeon comes with 2 6pin connectors, why are you asking about a good PS with one 6pin connector? Find a good power supply with 2 6pin connectors. 2. It really depends on the wattage of the power supply. If it's a crappy 400w PS then no. If it's a pretty good 600w ps and you don't have too many peripherals plugged in, like multiple hard drives, multiple optical drives tons of memory, etc, then it should be fine. 3. My god. Don't cheap out on a PS!! Say you were going to form a car racing team for Formula. You bought a ferarri enginehad lotus make your body, the best suspension and everythingnow it comes time for the tireswould you go and buy some $30 goodyear tires? OR say engine, would you buy the best parts then go find a yugo and put that engine in your formula racer? Heck no. If it were me? I'd spend at least $100 on a power supply. And I did. OCZ 750w. And I bought a cheap video card, radeon 6790, that I can upgrade later.
- Q: Cooler Master Cosmos s case Asus P5LP-LE motherboard from HP media center PC
- How about just download the preferred driver for it on ASUS's site? That would be more preferred way to have the proper driver for it also you might need to see if the front panel are connected on the board. Because it might not yet been connected.
- Q: I think somewhere around 3 or 4 months ago I, I bought a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector. I read the instructions and installed everything carefully, and it worked fine. Today though, when I tried to connect to Wi-Fi with my DS, it connected, and some seconds after that it disconnected again, and it gave an error. I went to my connection settings and checked if everything was allright, it recognized the connector, but when it tested the connection the same thing as earlier happened, then after a while (an hour or so) I tried it again and this time it didn't recognize the connector at all. I tried to reinstall the connector but it didn't work, and I'm not really sure what to do next. I think I still have a warranty so I could bring it back to the shops, but I just don't understand why it acts so strange. Is anyone else having the same problem, that it connects and then disconnects and errors?
- *swap your firewall off *deploy the CD for the USB *after installation, click on the icon *click your wii console call (the nickname you named it) *it could determine that it is your wii *then try connecting to the information superhighway returned *turn on your firewall
- Q: i am looking to find out what connector (sata or proprietary) acer uses for the dvd-rw drives in the aspire as7552g series laptops. if anyone has one i would appreciate the help.asking because i plan on getting the as7552g-6436 (keep opinions about the machine to yourself please) and i plan to upgrade it with a BD-rom drive. i do not want to tear it open until i can put the new drive in. i read that most new Acer's use SATA but some do not hence why i am asking.thanks in advance
- 7xxx series used a Sata connector for both the Optical drives and the hard drives. I used to repair them for Geek Squad's regional service center called Geek Squad City. You'll need to buy Acers BDROM drive though, since the faceplate brackets on most laptop optical drives are proprietary.
- Q: I just finished my pc build, and everything's good except the P4 connector, which connects the power supply to the motherboard. This is not the 24-pin connector, but rather the 4-pin connector which gives the cpu extra power. However, the motherboards' connector is 8-pin. The 4-pin fits in perfectly in the 1st 4 pins, and i understand the 8-pin is only for giving extra power to the cpu in the event that expansion cards/drives require more power. Will I be able to run my pc with only the 4-pin connector? I have one hard drive, one dvd burner, and no expansion cards.
- ok so here's the deal . the 4 pin connecter is from the old ATX12V days . the motherboard you have is for an 8 pin EPS12V connector . the thing is . they both serve the same purpose . apparently if you don't hook this cable up, your processor will get no power . (from the site i just read) . basically . the same rules apply to the 4/8 pin connector as apply to the 20/24 pin connector . if you plug a 4 pin cable into the 8 pin slot, it may work but you run the risk of overloading the 4 pin connection with too much current . easy fix tho . you can pick up an adapter that will turn that 4 pin connector into an 8 pin connector and you'll be good to go . the 4 and 8 pin connectors are there to provide the extra 12v current your system needs to run certain components (i.e. - your CPU) check out the site i used as my source for lots of details regarding thsi issue :) hope this helps!!
- Q: Do I need to buy a power supply for my gtx 650? I have the 3 pin converter for the card.
- that card takes a six pin power connector, you'll need an adapter or a new power supply
- Q: I need to replace the pigtail connector that connects to the MAF sensor. I can't find the part locally at a junk yard, so I was wondering if anyone knows if a connector from another car will work for this? Or of a place that sells pigtail connectors specific to this vehicle. Thanks.
- Mechanics at the dealership level have extra wiring harness that we cut out the connectors so we can repair issues like your having. You can ask around at the dealership even the parts counter person may know the pack rat in the shop who has plugs in a box.
- Q: I recently took the Hitachi hard drive out of my Pavilion dv9000 that I bought in 2007, and it has the strangest connectors I've ever seen. I can't tell if i'ts IDE or SATA; it doesn't use pins, per se, but blades.
- It's proprietary, so you need to buy from HP.
- Q: for 1991 ford mustang lx convertable
- Being that your car is a convertible the effect gained by installing subframe connectors would be negligable. But if you want to do it any way I recomend having them welded in place as oposed to being bolted in.It's a fairly simple upgrade, start by supporting all four corners of the car with jack stands and MAKE VERY SURE THAT THE CAR IS AS LEVEL AS YOU CAN MAKE IT BOTH FRONT TO BACK AND SIDE TO SIDE ( DOING THIS PROJECT ON A FLAT CONCRETE FLOOR WILL GO A LONG WAY IN DOING THIS) then with a handheld grinder remove any crud or rust from the ends of the exsisting front and rear subframes then do the same to the inner surface of the connecters and then fit them into place MAKING SURE THAT THEY ARE EVEN FROM FRONT TO REAR ON THE SUBFRAMES YOU DON'T WANT ONE SUBFRAME MORE SUPPORTED THAN THE OTHER ONE.Then put a couple of tack welds on each joint to hold it in place and then finish welding the connector into place (one point do not weld the entire outer or inner side in one continuos weld as you risk over heating the metal on both the connector and the subframe but rather make many short welds wher the connector meets the floor of the car about a inch to two inches long each then switch to the other side to give the metal time to cool. After all the welding is complete and the metal is completly cooled then apply some rubberised undercoating (any parts store should sell it in a spray can) to the connector and the joints where they meet the subframes to prevent any rusting and you should be all set.
- Q: I just bought a 2006 FEMA trailer in decent shape. It's got what I believe is a standard round 7-slot female adapter near the two propane tanks for operating the electric brakes and trailer brake lighting. My truck, a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II, has a smaller 1 diameter male receptacle near the Reese hitch. I cannot find an adapter to connect the two. My Rover is equipped with an electric brake controller specifically for towing an RV or other trailer equipped with electric brakes. Looked at UHaul, AutoZone and several other similar retailers with no luck. Any do-it-yourself suggestions as far as plug-and-go adapters to mate the two? My local Land Rover dealer was no help whatsoever.
- I Don't think an adapter for this application exists. You will probably have to replace your receptacle with the larger unit. This is very simple if you have a 12V test light. Wiring instructions come with the new receptacle, and you can buy them at Walmart, Camping World, or any RV dealer. Just make sure the view of the receptacle on the wiring diagram is the REAR of the thing, not the front. One other option is to buy mating parts and build your OWN adapter, which is what I did to hook up my trailer to my motorhome. P.S. Walmart has a pretty fair selection of adapters and connectors FYI. Be careful though, we don't see many Land Rovers over here a Wally Mart. Maybe you should drive the Volvo when you come in.yuk, yuk. (I crack me up)
