Q: I have a 's-video tv-out cable connector that hooks to my laptop which has 4 female ports: Aduio digital output (SPDIF), Pr (red), Pb (blue), Y (green). Is there a way that I can buy a cord to hook to my 3 Female Ports on my tv: Yellow (video), L-R Audio (white/red) to this connector?
Check with your Laptop manufacturer. They may have another s-connector that supports standard definition video output and standard RCA audio. However, standard-def of a PC output on any TV will look really bad, so I am not sure why you would want to do it in the first place.
Q: I got this connector:
The link you gave says that the external hard drive does not require a power cable. Does the hard drive spin up when attached to the laptop? You should be able to feel a slight vibration when the hard drive spins up. If there any indicator light on the hard drive enclosure that lights up? Did you try it with another computer? If it does not work return it.
Q: I have an additional hdd I want to install in my Dell pc (windows xp professional). The system has separate dvd and cd rw drives in it on one cable. The original hard drive cable only has one end on it (hooked up to original hdd). If I aquire a cable with two ends can I just hook up the second drive? (orig. master, new drive slave). I want to use the 2nd hdd to store pictures and music. What do I have to do to the 2nd hdd once installed, i.e. partition, format, etc?
Yes - If the second cable is indeed an IDE cable then you can connect the second hard drive to a new cable with the standard three connectors (IDE header, master, slave) assuming the other hard drive is and IDE drive.
Q: I have a ton of CAT5e RJ45 connectors I would like to crimp onto CAT6 cable - TECHNICALLY they are not CAT6 but do not see much of a difference. I have done a few already with no prbs but have many more to do and don't want to have to redo them. My CAT6 is SOLID and the connectors are for solid and not stranded.
RJ45 is RJ45. The cable is different, the connectors are the same. (Some places sell CAT6 connectors for a premium. Some people also sell Roleks watches. The unwary buy both of them.)
Q: For the P1 connector what is the function of the black wire and what is the voltage of the black wire only? Please include sources.
The P1 connector on what? It's not clear exactly what connector you have. P1 just probably means it's connector (port) number one on some particular device. That doesn't really tell us specifically what connector you're talking about. On power connectors, the black wire is DC ground. The voltage should be zero with respect to the case/frame ground.
Q: Does anyone know of any nds homebrew app that I can use to browse the web with my nintendo wifi usb connector? I've found that only actual ds games usually work with the wifi usb, so I figured an opera browser rom would be a good idea, but I don't have the expansion pack. Is there a patch maybe? Please help.
sorry, there is no patch because the ds needs the extra RAM in the extension pack to load and render images. as for homebrew that works on the Nintendo usb connector i can't really help you there. (being Nintendo happened to discontinue the connector before i could get my hands on it). I'd certainly give ds organize a try thou.
Q: i have a 256mb graphics card i want to put in my pc, but i have only the 20 pin in the motherboard do i need the 24 pin to run the gc? the graphics card doesnt even have a fan just a heatsink
Older motherboards used 20 pin PSU connectors, almost all modern boards now use 24 pin This has nothing to do with the video card, just the motherboard
Q: I just bought a new TV, a 26 Element TV with a built in digital tuner. I am completely lost and do not understand how to get cable. I live in a dorm and we are supposed to connect our cable to the wall, but I only see an RF connector on the back of the TV. Is an RF connector the same as a coaxial cable to the wall or is there an RF to coaxial cable converter so I could hook it up to the wall? Sorry if this doesn't make sense I have no idea what ANY of this is and every website I have done research on hasn't been helpful!
Connect a coaxial cable (dollar store) between your RF connector on the TV and the wall connector and you should be in business.
Q: I was looking on the market for a 9800 GT and most of the ones I saw required 2 6 Pin PCI connectors. I saw one 9800 at a local Best Buy and the recommended power supply was only 350 watt. How do they expect you to have a power supply like that with two 6 Pin PCI connectors? I have a BFG 450 watt psu and it only came with one connector. So my question is, is there any way I can hook up another 6 Pin from my power supply to the graphics cardare there any kind of adapters out there? I would appreciate some help. I may be missing something here. Thanks
There is adapters, contacting the manufacturer would be helpful. They might be able to provide you with an adapter or suggest one for you.
Q: Data sheets do not mention any attenuation, does that mean it is ZERO / negligible ? Less than 0.005 dB ?
Ain't much (negligible), which is why it's probably never spec'd, but the question and any answer is meaningless until we've got a frequency nailed down. The cable will represent the largest portion of any attenuation, and will swamp anything the connectors would contribute. The typical coax for SMA (RG-174, RG-188, RG-196 or RG-316) runs on the order of 60~80db/100' loss. Even the semi-rigid cables have a lot of loss in the microwave freqs. Decent SMA connectors are good to around 12.4GHz with flex cable, and 18GHz with semi-rigid cable. Some very special (and a bit expensive) ones are available for use up to the 26.5~27GHz !
