Shut off your cimputer, then turn it back on. You should be able to feel a slight vibration when the hard drive spins up. If there any indicator light on the hard drive enclosure that lights up? Did you try it with another computer? Unless the college wifi is configured to specifically block that data (perhaps blocking the destination, might be using a catch-all anti-gaming filter) it should get through. Only one way to know for sure though.

Q: I am trying to find an appropriate connector for a Windows 2000 Professional PC. I looked at the back of the CPU but cannot tell, which one of these could be used: a DVI, SVGA, Component, S - Video, Composite.: Almost certainly a VGA connection. Unless there is some compelling reason to have had it built with something of very high quality like doing high end graphics or video production work, in the Windows 2000 Pro days, VGA was THE connection for video. It would look like a serial port only with 15 holes in it for the pins in the connector on the monitor cable. SVGA uses the same connector as i recall.

Q: I just bought a 2006 FEMA trailer in decent shape. It's got what I believe is a standard round 7-slot female adapter near the two propane tanks for operating the electric brakes and trailer brake lighting. My truck, a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II, has a smaller 1 diameter male receptacle near the Reese hitch. I cannot find an adapter to connect the two. My Rover is equipped with an electric brake controller specifically for towing an RV or other trailer equipped with electric brakes. Looked at UHaul, AutoZone and several other similar retailers with no luck. Any do-it-yourself suggestions as far as plug-and-go adapters to mate the two? My local Land Rover dealer was no help whatsoever.: I Don't think an adapter for this application exists. You will probably have to replace your receptacle with the larger unit. This is very simple if you have a 12V test light. Wiring instructions come with the new receptacle, and you can buy them at Walmart, Camping World, or any RV dealer. Just make sure the view of the receptacle on the wiring diagram is the REAR of the thing, not the front. One other option is to buy mating parts and build your OWN adapter, which is what I did to hook up my trailer to my motorhome. P.S. Walmart has a pretty fair selection of adapters and connectors FYI. Be careful though, we don't see many Land Rovers over here a Wally Mart. Maybe you should drive the Volvo when you come in.yuk, yuk. (I crack me up)

It's the motherboard that determines the spacing of the PCI-Express (x16/x8) slots. (They could be one slot apart, two slots apart, three slots apart, etc.) That said, a flexible SLI bridge that uses a ribbon cable between the connectors should work for you. The first few SLI bridge connectors I got had two connectors soldered to either end of a printed circuit board .
