- You have not said what sort of ink or pen was used. Personally I find that: white spirit will remove Biro marks on leather, Fairy detergent or 1001 carpet cleaner and water will take off water based inks. However, wallpaper is a bigger problem not much you can do with that without leaving a mark of some kind - try an eraser for pencil or ink. If its bad I would strip off that piece paper from floor to ceiling and hang a new piece - assuming you have some paper left over that is..

- Hi, Do not, do not, I repeat do not get a microfiber sofa. They are awful. I have one. It is bologna that they are stain resistant and can easily be cleaned. At the beginning they do ok however after about six months there's major wear and tear. I would say get a leather one and just keep your eyes on the dogs. That's what I plan to get next time a leather sofa a dark brown one. I too have pets. Have a great day!!

- The only thing I can suggest to you is renting a steam cleaner. Maybee you should just wait until you can afford it. Thats how I always clean mine.....with a Rug Dr. ( I actually just bought my own eventually because I was renting them so often with 4 kids and two dogs!) With large peices of upholstered furniture, like sofa's, that are REALLY dirt, spot cleaning with a wet rag isn't going to do much. But if you come up with the money to rent a steam cleaner, I would definetely try to spot clean it with a wet rag and mild detergent everytime something got on it to avoid having to steam clean it to often.
