- Q:Ok so me my bf moved in together last may and have had about a 115-138 dollar power bill every following month. All of a sudden the past 2 months our bill came in at $200 bux! So i put plastic from an old shower curtain up over windows even though i was told use plastic painters would use:) all i had was shower curtain! Will this even drasticly help reduce bill!? Could it also be that our hot water pipes aren't covered? Idk if they are or not but can find out really quick! Plz any real helpful answers will be much appreciated!
- Hi there, As you know electric heat is very expensive. Covering the windows will certainly help. If you have an electric water heater you can turn down the temperature a few degrees. You also can just turn it off when not using and turn it back on thirty minutes before you need to shower, do the dishes, etc. On a cold night I would leave it on a low setting to prevent freezing. But a lot of heat can leave through the floor if you have no skirting all around between the ground and floor. Adding skirting around should help. Al

- Q:I need to mask some windows off using just painters plastic and 2quot; tape. My problem is where I'm supose to lay the tape is flush with the glass. Am I supose to cut the plastic to size, tape up the corners and then tape seams? Sorry, new to airless.
- You got it Tape windows first, use a razor knife for corners.Now tape plastic to the tape on windows. Cut plastic smaller then window so you tape on tape.
- Q:I have a 1994 convertible with a plastic rear window, and it has 13 years of dirtiness on that thing. There is a bunch of ugly what I presume are scratches all across teh middle (probably from the folding process).Also, there are little almost transparent white circles (you have to see them from an angle though)... that are also really annoying.Can you identify what those circles are??I've tried meguire's plastx polish...and even some white vinegar distilled in water.Currently, im looking for a more aggressive product.
- In some cases (not all) plastic can be restored using Noxema. Yes skin cleaner. It has stuff in it that gets down into the scratches, and cleans them very well. It has a very mild abrasive in it which will aid in removal of minor scratches. The best part is that you can snag a small amount from a wife, daughter or sister for free and try it to see if it will work on a small area before you go out and buy it yourself. I've never used it on rear convertible windows before, but I have used it on instrument clusters, and stereos with great results.

- Q:Hello all, for several years I have been having to buy replacement Jeep soft top (plastic) windows to replace the scratched ones. The last couple of times I have been fairly careful in not scratching them but I have noticed that even without scratches there seems to be some type of buildup that prevents it from looking clear and shinny as when they are new. I have tried using all sorts of soft soaps and even dish washing soap thinking it would take the build up off. Well, not luck. Here is my question, does anyone know of a product that they have actually used to keep Jeep soft top windows looking shiny and clear? Thanks,
- i think of the plastic residing house windows suck particular you may desire to purchase new doors for it that have residing house windows that are glass. you may desire to look in a junkyard for a good cost. playstation I actually have a ninety seven Jeep Wrangler with glass residing house windows it is a sturdy motor vehicle my 4cyl gets like 18-19 mpg especially situations even 20 and its a beast offroad. heavily it does whats its suppost to off street.

- I have repaired CRACKED window panes. It's important that none of the glass fell out, AND that all the cracked edges fit to each other tightly, AND are flush with each other. When all the pieces are flush [flat to each other, and in the same 'plane'] I VERY GENTLY AND CAREFULLY squeeze Super Glue ONLY INTO the cracks. IF one is very careful, surface tension 'draws' [sucks] the glue into the crack without leaving any excess on the glass surfaces to mar the appearance, AND if done properly, when cured, the glue 'disappears,' and the crack almost disappears. The Super Glue not only 'hides' the crack, but it also reinforces and waterproofs the joint. I do not know how long this 'fix' will last because the Ultraviolet in sunlight MIGHT degrade the glue, but if it should, one could always just 'run another bead' of glue.

- As a former renter of a California apartment (no longer in CA, much better where I am now) The landlord had that stipulation in the lease. Read it carefully though. Mine said that we were not allowed to take them down, it didn't say anything about hiding them. I pulled my hideously old aluminum blinds as far up as they would go, and put up my curtains on top of them. So, I didn't violate the rules of my lease, and I didn't have those horrible dust collectors blocking my sunlight! Good luck, I know how difficult it can be!
