- Q: Thank you for your help!
- You okorder okorder . Good luck!
- Q: Oke this sounds kinda dumb but i was wondering..IF i had a space suit which would make me able to ''fly'' just a few cm above jupiter, and i wouldnt fall in it. if i had a vacuum cleaner with me, HOW fast would it need to go to suck up some air of jupiter?ik gravity is terribly strong but still.. with the right speed it can be escaped right ?
- Jupiter's gravitational field is much stronger than any other planet of our Sun. There is no practical surface -- the atmosphere just gets more and more dense as you approach the planet. You could potentially devise some sort of airplane like vehicle which could fly through the atmosphere. Engine technology would be only one problem. Temperatures are cold, escape velocity is very high, and many other problems need to be solved. Getting a sample of Jupiter's atmosphere could be as simple, if you have solved the other problems, of having a vacuum bottle, opening it to draw in and capture a sample, then closing the bottle and leaving. You can read a lot about Jupiter's gravity, temperatures, size, escape velocity, and so on by searching for Jupiter in wikipedia.
- Q: You can sell 800 vacuums for $100 each. For every one dollar you increase you can sell two fewer vacuums. For example, if you charge $103 you can sell 794= 800-2(3) vacuum cleaners. If you charge 98, you could sell 804= 800 + 2(2) vacuum cleaners. How much should you charge to maximize revenue?
- You are on the right track. We can find a linear equation to predict the number of vacuums that will be sold at any given price. At $100 it is 800. At $103, it is 794. Think of this data as two points on a line. The points are (100,800) and (103,794). Find the equation of the line. y=1000-2x. The Revenue generated is the number sold * the price. y is the number sold and x is the price. R=x*y=x*(1000-2x) R(x)=1000x-2x? R'(x)=1000-4x The critical number is when R'=0 == 1000-4x=0 == x=250 So, it looks like we should charge $250 per vacuum. Is this really a maximum? R''(x)=-4. The Second Derivative Test tells us that our value is a maximum. This makes sense. The revenue function is a parabola that opens downward with a vertex at (250,125000), The price is $250 and the revenue is $125000.
- Q: There are many other things in our houses that make a racket, and the dogs and kitties are alright with them, but, drag out the Hoover, and, wow!, it's as if you were coming after them with a chainsaw. Why is this?
- Probably because the vacuum is bigger than them, it's close to the floor, and they feel the loud noise is something trying to attack them. My cat is scared of my vacuum too. I play a little chasing him, but I don't really bother him with it. Sometimes, animals aren't scared, because they know you control the vacuum, and you won't hurt them. Krazy Libra
- Q: it seems to be depositing the dust and crap back out. The carpet ends up worse then it originally was! The band defiantly hasn't broken as the brush is still spinning. Its past its warranty (conveniently lol)Any ideas?

- Q: What are the best reasonably priced HEPA air filters out there? Is it best to get one that attached to a furnace (but then its only running when the heat or AC is on) or a few smaller ones and move them room to room? Also, I understand that it is imprtant to try and vacuum with a HEPA vacuum. Any advice on something out there that is reasonably priced (and reasonably priced filters). For both, I want to get something that is not too cheap (ie something that actually works) but not top of the line (I am not running a hospital.. just want to increase the quality of the air we breathe at home.
- I would go with one attached to your furnace. Most thermostats have a setting that will make the fan run continuously, not just when heat or ac is called for. I think that would be cheaper to buy, run and replace filters for than trying to run several small portable units. We had a Hoover upright with HEPA filter that seemed to work pretty well for a mid-priced vacuum. Bert
- Q: thee is so much talk about kirby vacuum cleaners ,are they that good?anyway i want to test one and looking for one to purchase onlinewhere can i look?
- I have a kirby and love it, i have all the scrubing tools etc and Never have a problem with it, I gave up on the cheaper Vacs a few yrs ago, always losing power and something. The next best is the Dyson................you can go on line to check them out or to a store in your area that sells them.
- Q: Hi I'm considering buying one as I have back problems and vacuuming is tough for me, but I'm not sure how effective they would be. If anyone has used one, please let me know, Thank you!
- They work great just as long as you dont have rugs that might get stuck in it. Tile floors with quite a bit of open room is perfect. They also sell little sensors that dter the vac from certain areas that you might consider. The scheduler can be programmed to venture out at a certain time then return for charging after completion of its rounds. Great product!
- Q: I have 2 vacuum cleaners, both need new electrical cords! How do I replace them?
- There's not a whole lot to it. Follow the existing cord into the housing. Remove the screws that hold the housing together and pull the housing apart. You'll see that your white wires are typically wire-nutted together and your black wire from the cord will probably have a 1/4 female spade connector and is connected to the switch. The other wire on the switch runs to the motor. All you need to do is buy a replacement cord(assuming you can't just cut the bad part off the old cord) and route it in the same manner that the manufacturer did and make the connections just as they did.
- Q: ...what would you do?
- I would give you the vacuum cleaner at no charge and quit selling vacuum cleaners.
