Q:estimated cost of tiling bathroom walls?
One way to lower your costs would be to do the tile demolition yourself and then buy a less expensive field tile for most of the walls and add in the higher priced glass tiles in random places or to form a pattern in a special place-- say above the sink or around the shower head area, etc. Do you really want that much glass tile?
Q:How to restore hazy patches in porcelain floor tile?
Did you glaze them yourself? If not call the manufacturer....they should send a rep to your home or send a sample of tiles to determine what to do.
Q:Bathroom tiles seepage
Yes, your home wall is a permeable brick, you should be affixed to the 200 by 300 of the brick, that brick is permeable brick, and now posted a very troublesome, and you should use impermeable interior wall Brick, Hing Fai ceramic interior wall is completely impermeable, because I and several friends have used the family, when we go to see when the turn, do not understand anything, is the Hing Fai Purchasing Guide to do our experiments , So we chose Xinghui wall, installed out of the effect is really good, there will be no water seepage phenomenon. The first renovation, are so, do not know anything
Q:What is transparent tiles
Fashionable, bright ice crack, high density, high hardness, good flatness, covered with the line after the neat, smooth and beautiful, non-general market compared to ordinary tiles.
Q:choosing tiles { white horse vs. niro granite}?
Hello, I assume your question is trying to distinguish the differences in the companies or the difference between ceramic and granite tiles? lol, if its regarding difference between ceramic and granite tiles I can give a little insight: ceramic tiles are usually cheaper and maybe weigh about 1/5th of the weight of granite. Granite is very hard to cut, since it is stone. Its harder to cut granite than it is to cut marble per say. Granite will last a whole lot longer and won't scuff up or crack if you drop something on it, like ceramic tile would. You have pro's and cons with both products. I have replaced floors using both tiles and although the granite tiles look better and are more classic looking, the ceramic tile is much easier to put down. Cost comparison on regular granite in the state of Georgia from Floor Decor runs about $2.00 sq foot. Where as in ceramic tile ranges from about .75 to 2.50 per foot depending on style etc... Hope this helps you with your question. As far as the two different companies I am not familiar with them. Best of luck!
Q:Ceramic tile or vynil tile for bathrooms?
Vinyl floors can be dangerous in bathrooms. They're VERY slick if the floor gets wet or if you get out of a shower/tub with wet feet. You can put heaters under ceramic tile or place rugs on the floor if you're worried about coldness.
Q:Self adhesive tiles?
Clean the existing tiles with TSP and then rough them up so that the new tiles have something to adhere to and you don't get lift. You can sand them lightly then use a tack cloth to remove the dust or they sell chemicals at the home improvement store that de-gloss and prep the surface to take on the adhesive of the new tile. You can only do this once and if you decide to change the tile again you have to remove all of the existing layers.
Q:Where to start laying tile?
Without seeing the floor plan that is hard. Draw your floor plan out carefully and make a tile grid that matches your drawing scale. If the grid is on tracing or clear acetate sheet you can lay it over your drawing. You want to keep as many straight lines through doors as you can and keep the edges against walls balanced at the same time. You can cheat the layout a little bit by using wider or narower grout line if it is ceramic tile. The fewer places you have less than a half tile against a wall the better it will work. remember that you will have some furniture, so exposed edges after furnishing matter a bit more than edges you will never see behind a couch.
Q:cutting ceremic floor tile?
Grinds that carbide right off the bit, doesn't it? One of the previous posts has one technique, that being, drill a small hole in the tile (carbide, diamond-tip) at a slow speed with some sort of lubricant such as water (also cools the bit, but don't electrocute yourself) on the tile. Then you would thread the carbide grit hacksaw blade through the hole and hook up a hacksaw frame and cut away - - slowly. Then the tile will usually break when you are almost done. There are tile hole saw blades made, but they are not cheap, as they wear out relatively quickly. They will work up to a few inch diameter size. If it's any bigger than that, you'll probably want to find someone with a water-jet machine, like a countertop fabricator - person. A water-jet cuts just like it sounds - with water. It'll cut stone up to several inches thick. Hope that helps
Q:HOW GOOD IS PEEL & STICK TILE?
They work just fine and they last a long time, if they didn't they wouldn't still be selling them. I've used them quite a few times and they look great. You need to follow the instructions and make sure you use a sizing over the bare floor or the glue dries out and the tiles can come up. Make sure you check the run number on the boxes so the color matches correctly and look at the arrows on the back of the tiles and keep them going the same direction. Also make sure you but them together tightly along the edges so you don't have seams that can get water under the tile. Use a utility knife to cut them and start your layout from the center of the room so you can use the cut pieces on the opposite walls and have less waste. Good luck.
