- Q: I thought that bathroom floor tiles were thicker than the bathroom wall tiles, is this right?
- Yes but I would not recommend it. The bathrooms in the house we just bought have the same tile in the shower, walls and on the floor. The tiles are okay on the walls and in the shower but they are horrible on the floor. They are chipped , cracked and very tough to keep clean. Floors need a more durable tile.
- Q: it sets fast, is there any gun, aparatus or equipment to easly apply epoxy tile grout.
- 1. Why epoxy?, it will take longer to apply, will be messy and won't give you the opportunity to allow it to go under bare spot of your tile. 2. I would take it back and get regular grout. 3. Sounds like your going for a good seal and the best way to do that is regular grout and a grout sealer. 4. If you still want to use it, tape around all tiles, wear rubber gloves (surgical tight fitting type) and have a bucket of water handy. Apply epoxy about half of what you need, wet finger and push into cracks, then add more and smooth with wet finger. The whole process should take about an hour for a 4x4 section when you can grout a whole room in a half hour with regular grout. One last thing to consider, if you ever crack a tile it will be next to impossible to replace just one without breaking others around it, but with regular grout it would be relatively easy.

- really tight budget. HUM close your eyes while in your kitchen if your cabinets are stained then you could lighten them they do sell stuff to do this but it is time consuming.if paint paint over them paint the walls a complementary color to the tile then save up your money

- see if you can find new tile same color at store, then chip it out, buy some thin set or use liquid nails, then mix up a small amount of grout or buy the liquid squeeze out of a can grout,

- You can re-glaze tile as an alternative to replacing it, but it is VERY time-consuming and complicated to do and won't be that much cheaper than replacing. Plus you'll only be able to have a solid color instead of these beautiful stone tiles that are becoming more popular. Better to wait until you have the money to spend on nice tiles.

- Q: I‘m tiling my bathroom shower and need to cut holes for the shower head and body sprayers. I‘m using porcelain tile and I‘m not having any luck cutting the holes. - your asking a difficult one here ...everybody has trouble with this one ...unless you hire an expensive hole cutter ..the cheap ones don't do a lot ..just burn out ..im a builder and i have a tool that does it very well ..its a clamp ..like a G clamp but one half has a hole in it ..you clamp the tile and with pointed hammer ...part of kit ..gently knock hole in tile works every time ..never broke one ..but the tile must be well clamped ...before i had this tool i used to drill hole in tile and the expand the hole with a rotary stone ...it was tapered ...all ways work from glazed side

- I think painted tiles always look a bit dodgy, unless you really really carefully paint each individual tile and not the grout (which is a PAIN). You can get tile decals though to stick over them, which although not as nice as retiling usually looks ok.
