- Q: We took my car to autozone after we went thru a large puddle on Sunday nite and the car is not showing any codes. so basically the light is just stuck on and I want to turn it off Does anyone know how to turn it off for this model? It‘s a champagne 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
- the check engine light does not stay on for no reason First are u sure its the check engine light? If it is then there is a code in the system. You may have to take it to a more qualified person i have not had good luck with auto zone. To clear the light you will need a scan tool. A auto shop has a scan tool. Some people say disconnecting the battery will clear the light, but it wont the computer still stores the code.
- Q: Lately I have been having trouble with my Honda Accord‘s battery draining itself after I turn it off. Subsequently I have to get somebody to jump it when I want to drive it around. What could be the problem, and what is a cheap and effective way of finding out how to trace the problem and fix it?
- The black color is from the brake fluid overheating. The previous owner didn't do anything wrong, it's perfectly normal to have black/discolored brake fluid when you bleed them. If you really want to purge it out, then keep bleeding out the fluid until it comes out the ideal clear color. Just don't forget to keep refilling the master cylinder with fresh fluid, while you bleed: because it will get low bleeding that much fluid.
- Q: 96 silverado 350 4x4, this morning on the way to work had the cruise set at 60, hit a hill and it downshifted a gear and started to bog down a little so I gave her some more gas and it cleared up, and happened a couple times just going down a flat stretch, the service engine soon light came on, I‘m guessing its the fuel filter, but would the fuel filter being bad cause the service engine soon light to come on? Or is it something more than that? Thanks guys

- Q: i was driving my car and the engine cutted out .it didt start up again .there no sign on dash of any faultsdoes it mean ther engine has pack up .tryed jump starting but no luck
- there is a bleeder valve on each caliper(looks like a nipple) have someone pump the brakes and hold themdown. then loosen the bleeder valve. you should hear air or see brake fluid. tighten it back up before they let off the brakes. repeat until nothing but fluid comes out on all calipers. good luck
- Q: I have looked behind the dash and there is no bulb, it passed the mot in feb but with the new vosa, will this mean my car will fail, or if I put a new bulb in and it flashes, dose anyone no away around this prob I have heard it can be very expensive
- if they wipe when the hit the cleaner button odds are the motor is working ;) Check the fuse then the switch itself.
- Q: water some how got into my oil system replaced the oil pump and done an engine flush oil change and filter gave it a tune up dropped gas tank and cleanded that but my light still coming on whats else could be wronge
- well, assuming the head gasket isn't bad, change the oil filter to a brand OTHER than fram. fram is bad. Use Purolator, Wix, Bosch, AC Delco, Napa if this doesn't help, and the oil level is full, the oil guage sensor could be bad, setting off the light. If this isn't it then at worst, your oil pump is worn out, which I find hard to believe.
- Q: I purchased the car in March and it runs fine. In the past month I have noticed that occasionally the battery light comes on. It does not matter whether the lights or a/c are on or off. I tried reving the engine to see if that would turn it off and that does not seem to make a difference. After a minute or two it goes off and may not do it again for a week. The meter on the dash shows that the system is charging. I do not know the age of the battery as it is not marked, but the terminals are tight and do not have corrosion.
- the reason its going off and on its telling you theres something wrong with the charging system i would have the battery and terminals checked the then i would check the altanator most places cant tell you your stuff is going bad when they run a test all the test dose it tell you if its bad or good but the light dont lie so the best way to check is to run your car at normal idal and turn all the lights on every thing with a volt meter place each end on the battery pos and neg side and see if your battery charging if your battery is putting out 12 or more volts when running then the altanator is charging your battery if it not i would go the cheapest way by replacing the battery if you problem still exsist then your altanator is bad those are the only two items that would make that light come on
- Q: The spoiler light on my 2002 Honda Accord died. I already checked the light itself, and discovered that it is a LED, and not a standard bulb. All other external lights appear to be working normally. Does anyone know if there is a simple fuse that needs to be replaced, or do I have to replace the entire spoiler light itself? I looked at my owners manual, and there was no standard fuse for the spoiler itself.

- first you need to know if it is gas or elec. Then you need to see if you registered the heater to make sure the warranties is active.and if its going to take that long you should ask sears who repairs or covers their warranty then call them.O if you didn't register the heater THEY WILL CHARGE YOU a trip fee,parts and labor.and one one more thing.labor usually is not covered in the warranty. but it can just be a thermal coupler
