Q:Yes I have all the proper tools, I'm using a basin wrench...I've got the old kitchen faucet disassembled...one retainer nut is off after some effort, but the other won't budge (white plastic style)...I can't get it off and it's the only thing holding me back from getting my new faucet in...this is suppose to be an easy project but it's killing my entire day, please help if you have advice!
spray WD40 on it this may take a couple of sprays but should do the trick i hope this helps you
Q:I am trying to replace my kitchen faucet. I have done this before, but never at this house. I can not for the life of me get the old faucet out of there. The nuts are too old and rusted, I have tried a high quality penetrating oil, that didn't seem to work. I am also not too comfortable using a torch, so that's out of the question. There was advice on another website that said just to use a good drill and drill through the nuts since I'm replacing them anyway. I'm not sure if this is really a good idea, but I am at my wits end!The other problem I'm having is I can't figure out how to get the old mounting parts off either. I can take pics with my phone if anyone needs to see them.Any help would be appreciated!!
First of all, you need the right tools for the job. You will need a "basin wrench" which is a long wrench (12-18") that has a head that flips for either tightening or loosening the nuts. This wrench will keep your hands below the bottom of the sink and help prevent "bloody knuckles syndrome". If the nuts are frozen to the point that a basin wrench won't turn them, use a "mini hacksaw" to cut one side of each of the nuts that hold your faucet to the sink. If the nuts are made from brass, this will be relatively easy being that brass is a soft metal. Once you cut the nuts, use a flat screwdriver to open the gaps created by hacksawing through the nuts. At this point, the nuts should be removed easily. When you are lying under the sink and looking up at the faucet base, BE SURE TO WEAR SAFETY GLASSES! When you put on your new faucet, be sure to lightly coat all threads with a good quality plumber's grease. This will make repairs/removal alot easier next time.
Q:Basin faucet with shower how to connect the water pipe
Drill the front with the cloth before the package is good, in order to avoid the faucet was dirty and bruised. The height "H" is determined by the actual product according to the actual installation.
Q:A few days ago to the home of the kitchen faucet for a new, but after the change of the problem came, in the faucet and pots connected after the discovery of the tap base and pots connected is not strong, always able to turn, and later found The bottom of the fixed nut is loose, you want to tighten some of the metal gasket are squeezed and can not be fixed (metal gasket is a single hole screw).
The faucet is generally screwed to the nut. Comprising: a threaded member extending in engagement with the faucet and extending through the mounting hole and rotatable over the platform; a nut threadedly connected to the lower end of the platform through the mounting hole, the nut being responsive to the direction of rotation of the threaded member Moving in a direction away from the underside of the platform; a second member connected to the threaded member and parallel to the threaded member, the second member engaging the nut to prevent the nut from rotating when the threaded member is rotated, The nut being moved upwardly and downwardly along the length of the threaded member in accordance with the direction of rotation of the threaded member; and a locking bracket rotatably connected to the nut.
Q:I would like to give a sink and faucet the appearance of having plumbing for display purposes. Is it possible to use a fountain mechanism to create that effect. I'd like to be able to turn a handle and have the water flow, then drain back down into a basin to be pumped through continuously if left on. but able to be shut off by simply turning the handle back to the off position.
Yes you can. I use old T.V. dishes that get tossed out all the time. I use them as step fountains, very nice in the garden.
Q:What is the difference between a single hole and a double hole in a bathroom cabinet?
Single hole is a single cold water faucet, double hole is out of hot and cold water, according to their needs to buy, to be beautiful is not a problem, like what kind of election can be selected to their favorite line slightly, you want quality Good to choose the brand name, more secure. Good quality is not a single hole
Q:What is the size of the faucet mounting hole in the sink basin?
The mounting hole of the standard mounting table should be 35mm in diameter.
Q:I just wanted to replace my kitchen sink but now that we have it in my cold water hose wont fit into the cold water valve.. they are both female ends. is there an adaptor i can use? do i have to replace the valve with a valve that has the right connection? and lastly what are these parts all called so i wont look like an idiot at the hardware store. thatnks for the help every one!
Well, the first thing the hardware person is gonna ask is "What kind of plumbing do you have?" (Copper, plastic, iron?) If the two female ends you have are of the same type (1/2" NPT, for example -- NPT standing for National Pipe Thread, and the 1/2" referring to the "nominal" inside diameter of the pipe, which is actually considerably larger), then it's a simple fix: Get a short 1/2" galvanized iron "nipple" (which, despite its name, has two threaded male ends), and that should go between the two female connectors and solve the problem. If the threads don't match on one side or the other, you'll need an adapter, which the hardware store can provide. If your valve is functional, you shouldn't have to replace it. Be sure to use teflon tape on the threads: As you're facing one of the male ends, tightly wrap a strip of the tape clockwise two full laps around the threads. (By wrapping it clockwise, the twisting of the female fitting onto it won't undo the tape.) The teflon tape not only fills any flaws in the metal surfaces; it also lubricates the joint so you can get it good and tight. PVC plastic pipe generally has NPT fittings for attaching fixtures; copper might have the same, or have "flare" or "compression" connections. Galvanized iron pipe always is fitted with NPT threads, and 1/2" is most common for kitchen and bathroom. PS: I just now saw your photos, which weren't yet posted when I started writing this. The pictures are too small for me to be sure what you have there, but maybe the problem is just that you have two connector tubes! Take one of 'em off at the other end, and attach the free end of the other one there. In selecting which one to detach, the one coming from the plumbing is probably far easier to access; the one going up to the faucet would require a basin wrench -- not a fun tool to use -- and a flashlight, and three hands! Congratulations on doing it yourself!
Q:Basin faucet special astringent, how to repair ah?
This faucet can not be removed
Q:Most of the answers i got on the last question were not the answers i was looking for. Most answers weren't telling me whether this will for OR whether i need my landlord to buy a different kind of faucet.I need to know if this faucet will fit this OUT DATED sink? My landlord bought it for me. It's a one handle faucet, so is the old one.
Yes, this will work. You will need a basin wrench and a friend who has done this project before.
