Q:Our kitchen isn‘t that big and I hate the tile. My fiance says it‘s a huge big deal to remove the tile but not so hard to put new tile in.About how much does it run to remove tile, say from the average size kitchen.... it‘s about 7 foot by 18 feet.
It should only cost about as much a sledge hammer costs. And you don't even need that big of one. Other than that just go in and hit it with the sledge and it will come up.
Q:I think the thinset under some of my ceramic tiles is crumbling. I have a concrete slab floor and it involves about 12 tiles between my kitchen and dining room. The grout and tiles have not cracked yet, but how would I fix the thinset without breaking up the good tiles?
Hi there, in my opinion to improve, restore, and maintain the appearance of your ceramic tile you have to use the Tenax product because it is designed specifically for treated materials because 2 month before I have got the same problem so I search on a net for ceramic tile I got one which better than the other ceramic tile companies I call them and purchase Tenax product for my ceramic tile when I use it you really don’t believe the sound of crackling in my tile didn’t come by using of Tenax product so from my point of view I prefer the Tenax product so If you were interested visit the website which is given below.
Q:The tile is blue and white and are each about 3x3 inches wide? Can you lay new tile over the top or paint it?
Using TSP (trisodiumphosphate), thoroughly clean the tile surface. The TSP will clean and degrease the tiles. At Home Depot there is paint that you can buy that is designed specifically for painting over ceramic tile. I've used it and it does work, but make sure you open some windows and have some cross ventilation going as it smells very strong and the fumes can cause problems. It is supposed to be self leveling, but being as you are working on a vertical surface, it's best to use thin coats of the paint. If you use any other type of paint, it will come off when you go to clean it.
Q:What is transparent tiles
(The market also known as tiles, polished tiles, etc.) is the rock debris by pressing high pressure, the surface after grinding hardness compared with the stone, water absorption is lower, good wear resistance. The surface of the whole body is not glazed, and the front and the back of the material and color consistent, hence the name. Although there are seepage of the whole body bricks and other varieties, but relatively speaking, its color than glazed tiles. Most of the anti-skid brick are all bricks.
Q:The kitchen I want to order is a light cream/beige color. The tiles in my kitchen which would also be the backsplash are white. Does light cream and white work together? The counter top would be a grainy white and cream color. I wanted another countertop but it is not available. Should I paint the tiles? And if so how? Thanks
Painted tiles will never look as good as the original finish and will probably not wear well either, since there is white in your countertop, I would just leave the tiles as they are. You could remove some of the tiles and put in accent tiles that match your new color scheme to help pull it all together. The sell the grout knives and cutter you would need at the tile section of your larger hardware stores. Tape the surrounding tiles to avoid scratching when removing one.
Q:I believe the tiles were made in Mexico. They are light beige in color. They were installed in the master bathroom which has a shower stall, no bathtub.
Hi, It's a matter of personal taste and how much you use the kitchen. I personally wouldn't put tile in my kitchen as I cook a lot and it is hard on the back and legs but I love it for my bathrooms. I personally have hardwood and you do need to take care of it but I love it. It is 13 years old and the only place it is showing wear is by the sink where I should have had an area rug.It has had a lot of traffic 2 kids and friends, 2 dogs and 2 cats. You need to wipe up spills. It is more forgiving when something is dropped than tile. I may get it refinished at some point but for now I just think it adds character. My girlfriend has linoleum and loves the easy care of it. I have seen people in her home reach down and touch it so it is a good quality and realistic looking. Friends have tile in their solarium that is heated and that is very nice but have hardwood in their kitchen. I prefer hardwood or tile as I like natural products. If I didn't spend so much time on my feet in the kitchen I might consider tile. Hope this helps and good luck on your renovation.

Q:In my Bathroom, I want to update the tile. It‘s the small rough octagon shape in white w/black speckles. Grout is also white. I hate it, stays dirty. Thought about sanding it and putting a dye and sealer on it, but I dont know if this can be done. 2nd choice is replacing the grout w/black but I am back with the white tile, does anyone know if the sanding and dyeing it would work? I thought I would try this first, it would be cheap, because I have a sander and I can do it myself.. and thought I could maybe use the dye you use to dye clothes (possible?) and then just a polyurthane to seal. If I do anything else like, remove ceramic tile, this may be costly..Any suggestions?
I'd just remove the tile. Yes, it is more expensive...but it also will increase the value of the home. Especially in a bathroom or kitchen. If you can manage it, I'd just bite the bullet and pay for the replacement. You could even do it yourself. Removing the tile isn't as difficult as it looks. Once you get one up the rest pop up pretty easy. The cheapest thing I can think of is just cover it up with a carpet piece or throw rugs and live with it. :) Good luck.
Q:My husband and I put ceramic tile floors in our kitchen, dining room, office, and laundry. We cannot seem to get them clean. I use to scrub them with a brush and bleach but can‘t with a small child and being pregnant. We have tried swiffers (wet jet and sweepers) a mop and bucket, a steam mop, nothing seems to get them very clean, just pushes the dirt around. I need something that will get them sparkling and be easy to do while pregnant, please help.
If you love having a very clean and shining floor, I'm sure both your hands and your knees are probably been suffering because of it. I use Lustro Italiano cleaner from Ciciliot which works best for me. you can find it in my source site
Q:Dear Sir/Madami have question regarding installing tiles 30*30cm*2.5cm thick for hall and rooms my question is whats the min. and Max. cement mortar must be placed under neath tiles (i.e bond coat in between concrete slab and tile )please advice and thank for help and appreciated
If you're using ceramic tiles (very regular size and relatively smooth/even back), use a 1/4 square notched trowel, held somewhere between 45 and 90 degrees (vertical). If you're using natural stone tiles (e.g. granite, marble, slate), go for 3/8 square notched trowel and back-butter the tiles. Make sure the concrete slab is clean, sound, free of cracks and level before you start and follow the instructions for your thinset. You'll likely want to use a modified thinset which will help bond to the concrete better. If you have any doubts about the stability of your slab, consider installing an isolation membrane between the tile and slab. Schluter's Ditra system is the best of the breed for this. If you use an isolation membrane, use unmodified thinset (instead of modified).
