- Q: So, I built my first computer 6 months ago, only to have the power supply fail, and maybe fry the CPU or the motherboard (hope not), and I ordered the XFX 550W from newegg. Now I built the computer, but this is actually going to be the first time I'm taking out the cables of the power supply to the motherboard, and it looks like it's quite tightly in there, do I just take it out by force? I don't want to exert too much pressure because I'm a pussy and I don't want to ruin it haha.
- The HDD power cable has no clips, the SATA cable usually does though. The ATX power cable especially (20/24pin) will give quite a lot of resistance, just make sure to keep pushing the clip down while pulling up equally, meanwhile, keep an eye on the motherboard, it'll flex and bend as you pull it up, but yes, you will have to pull quite hard to get things out, harder than you would normally think, I was the same as you, I keep thinking if I pull/push too hard or force things they'll break, but components are far more robust and resistant than you think.
- Q: I need a power cable for an XBox 360. where can i buy one?
- If it's the same as the power cable for an XBox, try Radio Shack. That's where I bought a replacement cord for mine.
- Q: I just put a new sound system in my boat with a sony xplod sub and amp, and also an infinity reference amp with 4 kenwood speakers. The problem i'm having is that i had to run the amp power cable right past the right rear speaker and now i'm getting a lot of feedback when the engine is turned on. Is there any way to insulate the power cable so that i don't get that annoying feedback through that one speaker? thanks-Josh
- You have to move that wire away from the spk. is it close to the spk, or is the wire close to the one for the spk? You may be able to block the amp wire from the spk, by placing some wood of some sort between the two( hillbilly I know but...) The other thing you can try would be to wrap the amp wire with a plastic conduit, od a foam like expanding spray foam could shield it. You can also try a magnet ont he power wire to the spk.(that may take the feed back out of it.) Or try them all at once LOL(sorry but it might work) Just try to get the wires as far away from the other as possible. Hope that helps. Cheers Wiretheworld
- Q: What models and specifications does the cable have? Do not understand the cable with the power cable is not the same thing, or contains the relationship?
- Your USB cable is really different. People are red and black is negative, green and white is the data transmission.
- Q: Hi, Whether it will causes any problem the power and speaker in a same path? I dont have a separate path for speakers to mount it in wall. I plan to use the existing path which is used for other electrical items. If i use the same path for electrical wire and speaker wire, it will damage the speaker or will make any short circuit in the electrical line?Thank you.
- It is a BAD idea to run speaker wires and AC power wires in parallel. It wont cause a fire or harm anything - but you may notice a 60 hz hum or noise in your system if power is flowing through the power wires at the same time you are listening to your system. If this happens - then you need to re-run your speaker wires away from the power wires.
- Q: Well yea, I just got my 8800 gs today... I just recently upgraded from a 7600 gt. Well I've never had to install a card like this. It comes with a power adapter. I have no idea how to install this power adapter. It had a connector for the video card, and 2 other connectors opposite. The 2 other connectors only had 3 pins, but fit in the my 4 pins. I've connected one of the pins to my power supply and have no more 4 pins. I just have 2 quick questions. Will it affect my video card if I only have 1 of the connectors connected to my power supply?andWill it still work if I connected the 3 pin to the 4pin on my power supply, will it still function correctly?
- okorder , that I gave you.
- Q: Okay I need help.I lost the power cable for my modem, so now I am using a 18v 1A cable, the input of the modem needs 15v 1.5awill this be compatible or will it burn my modem?
- Get the proper supply. It will be easier on it. With that supply, it could overheat and prematurely fail.
- Q: If you have an electrical device (e.g. a laptop), you'll sometimes notice that near the place where you plug the power adapter into it, there's a sign. It's composed of 3 circles, minus on the left, O inside a C in the middle, and plus on the right. What is this? And if I want to read/learn more about it where should I go?
- If you look at the jack that go inside the power input you will see that it is an outside connect and an inside one.The O is the inside connect and the C is the outside one.Because it is a DC power adapter it has a + and - polarity .O,the inside ,is the plus and C,the outside,is the minus. Also on the adapter you can see the same thing! This is because some brands use the outside connect as + and you can burn your device if you use it!!!!
- Q: A friend gave me this monitor, but didn't know where the power cord was. I made the mistake of thinking to myself quot;Oh well, it's just the standard plug, I'll just use one at home. But it is this weird 4-5 Pronged slot I haven't seen before. The manufacturer is HP, but I couldn't find any accessories on their site. Can anyone tell me what kind of plug would fit this, or where to get one? I have included a picture, sorry for the poor quality, but it is from my phone.
- totally non standard - look as though it must be propriatory to hp
- Q: What is the concept of power cable middle head? What is the difference between a terminal and a terminal?
- The simplest is to use a multimeter to find the power switch on the motherboard, to extend it to the desktop. Hands-on ability to receive the keyboard is not commonly used on the button with 2 with the bag to do the power switch to extend the line, hands-on ability in the strong words can use the remote control toy car to achieve remote control start the computer. Pay attention to open the hot hole!
