Q: i left my flat iron on the carpet and the carpet has two small red lines from the plates. how can i i rid of the i put oxiclean on i dont think its working though.
Repairing Burned or Melted Carpet Fibers Unfortuately you won't be in a position of hire the comparable innovations used for cleansing carpet stains as you may to repair burns interior the carpet. in actuality, possible tremendously plenty evaluate a burn permanant harm. in the past you toss your carpet in a dumpster hower, you may desire to attempt considered one of those techniques to eliminate carpet stains brought about via burns. the 1st ingredient you could attempt is snipping the very genuine fibers of the carpet. If the burn is basically too far down interior the fibers, you could decrease out the blistered spot with an exacto knife and decrease out yet another piece precisely the comparable length and shape from a carpet remnant or hidden component of the carpet. Paint a splash glue on the aspects of the piece of carpet and glue into place. with a bit of luck no person will ever word.
Q: At about 8-9 this morning. Now they are pretty dried at 1 pm. I wanted to now re-arrange the furniture, but how long should i wait? its pretty dried, but i was still wondering?
Trust me, a rug takes ages to dry completely. I am a rug manufacturer in Agra, India and we dry out a rug for 6-7 days in the sun before taking them inside. And that's when the sun in Agra shines at 47 - 48 Degree Celsius You should probably leave it out in the sun for 2-3 days more, since 2 days have already passed from posting of this question. It will not only dry out the rug but increase its longevity as well
Q: Is it the landlords responsibility to replace all carpeting before a new tenant moves in?
No. It just needs to be cleaned.
Q: I have white carpet, and it got stained up kinda, can anyone recommend me to a brand and model of a carpet cleaning machines? Will they whiten my carpet again?
a rainbow vacuum.they work wonders.expensive i must say,
Q: Installer told me floors need conditioning and rugs may leave marks due to the sun.
I have them on mine and haven't had any problems yet, there on there for about 2 years now. I installed the floor about 6 months before my wife purchased the rugs
Q: My living and dining room are one room. (not a huge room) I bought an area rung which I would consider classic. It has about 9 rows of different color rectangles ( beiges, golds, browns, and burgundies) with a beige border for under my dining room table. I saw another rug with basically the same colors but with more burgundy. It has bigger rectangles that are all different sizes. Some are big stripes and not in any particular order. It is hard to describe. Can I put them together? One in the living room and one under the table? From the end of one to the beginning of other there would only be about 18 inches? Thanks
So what we have here is two area rugs that clash correct? Can you put them together? How close are the rooms to each other? If their close, than no, they don't go together. If you must have both rugs try and seperate the one room from the other, by getting decorative deviders of some sort etc. The deviders are nice looking and will take the focus off of the other rug. Hope I helped
Q: Smup pump broke and water leaked on to the carpet
Get new carpet. You can try Microban products, which kills mildew and definately helps eliminate smells, but its rather expensixe, and if you had much water at all, may not be worth the cost. Get a little extra insurance the next time, they will cover basement leaks if you get a rather inexpensive rider for it (Ive got it for mine).
Q: I have a rug that my sister gave me as a gift. The colors are perfect for my home and it's the perfect size for where I need it. But there's a problem - it's in a high traffic area (landing on the stairs) and it won't stay put. It creases in the center and gets pushed up against the wall as the traffic goes by - causes safety hazard because now we're tripping all over it, and i'm getting so tired of bending down to straighten it. I know it probably wasn't an expensive rug, but I would hate to throw it out. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get it to stay on the carpet? I was thinking about gluing some thing on the bottom corners to weight it down.... maybe that's a crazy idea. I was also thinking maybe there's a way to attach it to the carpet, like a safety pin.... probably crazy too because then i'd just end up with holes in my carpet. Maybe someone more creative has an idea or knows of a cost effecient product that could help me.
It's because the wall to wall has a nap -- the fibers tend to bend in a certain direction and every time you step on the area rug, the pressure compresses the fibers of the wall to wall carpet pile down in one direction -- when the pressure releases when your foot moves, the pile springs back, catching the backing of the area rug and inching it forward. The sticky carpet-to-carpet liners you can buy (like the first answer mentioned) do help some but if your wall to wall is a fairly deep plush there is really not much you can do to stop the area rug creep. I have found over the years that soft unbacked area rugs like dhurries and Navajo blanket type rugs don't creep as much as regular broadloom or oriental area rugs that have the stiffer cotton warp backing. But they still eventually creep to some extent.
Q: Did you realise that professional carpet cleaning is recommended every 6-12 months? How often do you have your carpet cleaned? Who cleaned your carpet was it a company or did you clean your carpet yourself?
I see that this is basically an advertisement for your carpet-cleaning company, which is fine with me. Lots of people don't keep their carpets very clean. Others rent those stupid carpet-steamers from the stores, then soak their carpets and their carpet pad gets musty and rotten. I have a Bissell steam cleaner, and I steam my carpet every 2 weeks. I once used a professional carpet cleaner, and they (incorrectly) scrubbed a stain very hard by hand and damaged my carpet. Another professional cleaner was unable to get cat-urine odor out of a carpet (I know, it's one of the hardest odors to remove). I bought some Unique Pet Odor and Stain Eliminator, which is the only product I have ever used that works on cat urine, and was able to remove the odor myself. I have 9 cats and a dog, which explains why I have to clean my carpet frequently.
Q: Also, would jute be good as i imagine lots of spills. Any ideas? And, doI really need a rug pad? Thanks!
Design rule is that your rug should be 24 behind the chair with someone seated. Mine is much less, maybe 12-18 and works fine. Jute will work but it's a bit hard to clean. On the plus side, it doesn't show spills too much. If you have cats, they might think that you bought it for their scratching needs. Invest in a good rug pad if you want to extend the life of your rug, or the rug is thin or stiff enough to slip.
