Q:I sprayed electrical cleaning fluid, which evaporates really fast, into my ipod touch's headphone jack, seeing as it was giving me problems having to adjust the tips of the audio equipment I hooked it up too, I should have used a q tip, and I sprayed it into the connector port as well. and my screen, well. Its kind of, weird, and I am kinda angry about it but then agian, its really cool lol Its like, making these 3d bubbles of darkness on the screen, it doesent go completely out, but it gets darker in some areas, and its really bright in the other If I have a pure white backround showing on my ipod, it looks like I am looking at a cloud. a horribly, vivid, cloud, for a screen Any suggestions or reasons why this might have happened? it looks like fluid got on something and somehow never dried, and is like, being displayed on the screen underneath it, but I Know I did not spray that much . I screwed up dident I Technically its still good to me though.
Yeah, you kind of messed up. An electrical cleaner isn't necessarily meant for electronics, and especially not plastics. If you look at the can again, it could well have a caution on it about being careful around plastics. Even many electronic cleaners tell you to test it on a plastic case in some place it won't show before spraying. Whether the chemical ate the plastic or the thermal shock of the rapid evaporation caused the damage is hard to tell, but I'm guess the cleaner ate the plastic a bit.
Q:hiwhenever there are clouds, lightning or clouds sparks strikes my house and damage my electrical equipments like tv, fan, lights. my house has an entrance from south side and have windows, doors openings from this side, i also have openings in north direction to access to my back verandah but no sparks fall from this side. The house have 3' high iron bars fencing at front wall of 5' height as well as on rear wall of 5'-6 height. Do i need to put one 1'-6 high lightning rod made up of copper and aluminium and placed it on the roof top of my house to arrest these lightning sparks whenever they fall or some lightning arrester or you have any good solution of my problem. my house is 39' wide and 52' in length and 33' high(including ground floor, first floor, second floor) and have flat roof top and its in haryana region. please suggest me what to do? i will be really grateful to youthanksbye
You Have the answer in your question you basically have to use a lightning arrestor an top of your house. But make sure that the earthing of it must be separate from your house earthing and try to maintain a earth voltage around 1Vlts preferably below 1 Volt. For more information on lightning arrestors go to the link below.
Q:All of my US electrical equipment has had it's wattage determined to provide the proper transformer to use. Transformers were bought to support between a third and half of the load that would be demanded. I am not using multiple devices which would cause overload. My TV (395W) only clicks once (like the sound of a relay) when plugged into the 3000W 220-120 step down transformer and never turns on. The transformers are tripping the breaker of the apartment now. I was assured there would be no problems taking my US equipment to Amsterdam and using transformers. Some light on this subject would be appreciated. I can't imagine everyone has this trouble, or there wouldn't be companies in the US in this business.
no as the TV you bought was PAL or SECAM which means it can only broadcast/read that kind of picture. where as in the US that have a NTSC picture you will also notice on DVDs they have PAL or NTSC written on them saying that only they will work on certain DVD players such as US one. sorry mate id recommend selling it and buying a new one in the US.
Q:At hwy 5 and 380 there is a bunch of large trailers, cars, and production equipment. What is being filmed there?
I am so glad someone was able to get the info. Well I guess no Bill Smith's in the morning. Thanks for the info.
Q:(without using any connection wires)? I frequently need to plug existing electrical equipment in places where there is no power outlet I have to use clumsy long tailed electrical extension plug that hinders free movement ? Short of using a battery in the equipment how to connect the power junction points (earth live neutral to an existing electrical power outlet using nothing but air in between)?
Hmmm, for modest loads, you can use induction but that needs modifications to the equipment you are using AND needs the drive coils embedded in the walls of the building you are in. It does work quite well though :) Tesla had some quite good ideas about tranmistting power but again, the method is not something too practical to use in your everday building. Sorry :(
Q:I am just a few classes away from getting my Associates in Electrical Engineering. I currently have a Diploma in Industrial Electricity and have been working in industrial maintenance for 12 yrs. and am currently an electrical technician (10 yrs. multi-skilled and the last 2 yrs. strictly electrical due to a job change). I have returned to school to get my AAS in EE, so I would really like to know what possibilities I could expect.
You can get a job as an electronic engineering technicians. You help design, develop, test, and manufacture electrical and electronic equipment such as communication equipment, medical monitoring devices, navigational equipment, and computers. You may work in product evaluation and testing, using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust, test, and repair equipment. Median annual wages of wage and salary electrical and electronic engineering technicians were $53,240 in May 2008. The middle 50 percent earned between $41,550 and $64,120. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $32,490, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $78,560. Median annual earnings in the industries employing the largest numbers of electrical and electronic engineering technicians were:
Q:Hey im sell a electric fencing sword wet because I just cleaned it with water because im selling it on OKorder.
Getting any electrical equipment wet with water is a bad idea. The water hastens corrosion, and if it is still wet when it is plugged in, the resulting short-circuit can damage it and other electrical equipment further. If the weapon is an epee or foil, the barrel of the tip will hold the water and rust the spring(s) and contacts. In the future, the best way to clean a weapon is to wipe off any dirt or salt with a clean, damp cloth and dry it immediately. Use a Scotch Brite pad or equivalent to gently remove any rust or scale from the blade, being careful not to damage the wires and insulation in the groove. To keep rust off the blade, wipe the blade with a light coating of machine or gun oil, a paste wax, or silicon car wax. Keep blades away from sweaty jackets, etc. Colored blades, FIE-rated blades, and maraging blades rust less than regular steel because they are either coated with an anodyne (in the case of colored blades) or are made of an alloy that is rust resistant.
Q:I am using a piece of equipment that uses plastics hoses to connect three metal pieces (a vacuum pump, a separation chamber, and a rotating sieve). When I touch each of these to remove material I am collecting after use, I get a small shock. What can I do to prevent this? Also, there is a loose, partially exposed wire. What can I do about this? As far as I know, it has no function.
Even if your house has code-approved grounded wiring, you still can get a shock by touching exposed wires or metal that is in contact with them. This rarely happens intentionally. It is more likely to be the result of handling a poorly insulated appliance, or one with a loose internal connection, under conditions that give electricity a path to ground through your body. To prevent this, avoid using old appliances, especially those with loose connections, and install ground fault interrupting (GFI) outlets in the bathroom, kitchen, outdoors and any location where wet conditions increase the risk of unintentional grounding. If your house has carpeting, it is almost impossible to avoid static shocks, particularly on dry days. The movement of your feet on the carpet creates a buildup of static electricity as electrons from the carpet move from the carpet into your body and electrically energize it. When you touch any metal surface, like a doorknob, you create a circuit that allows the electrons to flow, and you get a shock. While uncomfortable, shocks from static electricity are normal. You can reduce their severity by frequently touching metal objects to ground yourself before the buildup of electricity in your body becomes too large.
Q:1 artificial permanent 2 electromagnetic3 natural
I suppose they all do; Electromagnets are probably the most useful as they can be switched on and off instantaneously. They are used in motors, loudspeakers, relays, televisions etc. artificial permanent magnets can also be found in electric motors, loudspeakers, reed switches etc. As far as i can think natural magnets don't have many applications. but they could be used to make loudspeakers, motors and to operate reed switches for sure. So in short, they all have several applications in electrical equipment. Sorry not to be of more help.
Q:for example, a 3ds?
Never heard of 3ds? DVDs - dish soap water. Dry with clean cotton towel. Does not work? Buy a new one.
