- Q: i put a 4 inch deep container inside her terrarium with spider turf and vermiculite and mixed it with water, she started digging a hole, than she stopped and now she wants to get out of her terrarium. wht seems to be the problemps:im 100% sure that she‘s pregnant
- look really good in the dirt if know eggs give her a couple days or take her to the vet
- Q: Vermiculite in the end what color is good, my how like false?
- Because vermiculite has the ability of ion exchange, it has a great effect on the nutrition of the soil. In 2013, the world's total output of vermiculite exceeded 500 thousand. The major producers are China, South Africa, Australia, Zimbabwe and the United states. Vermiculite is a kind of clay mineral similar to montmorillonite, which is a layered structure of silicate.
- Q: My leopard gecko just layed eggs and i don't know what to do with them. I have an incubator, and i'm pretty sure one of the two is fertile because she layed one in the nesting box. In the next box, i have that moss stuff, but when they go in the incubator, should i put them in vermiculite, or just keep them in the moss? Please help- i don't want them to die.

- Q: I have discovered an insulation underneath the blown in fiberglass that is a gray/brownish color that is underneath the fiberglass. Also, if you shine a flashlight at this insulation you can see tiny straight fibers within the insulation itself. Do any of you contractors, electricians, or diy‘ers know whether or not loose fill amosite asbestos was ever used in this form. The only other thing that I can think of that it might be is a rock or slag wool insulation, but I don‘t think that you can see individual fiber strands within that type of insulation though. The apartment in question was built during the late 1960s if that provides any insight to this question.

- Q: I bought an orchid two days ago for Mothers day.The plant‘s soil is wrapped tightly in a plastic bag with a drainage hole. It is then place into the pot supplied, so it isn‘t actually planted in the pot. I can see condention on the plastic bag. I am worried that the trapped water will cause root rot. Do I take out the plastic packaging and place the plant in the pot? Also, how can I tell when a orchid needs watering. If you could also supply me with basic information on how to look after a Phalaenopsis orchid, that would be great!Ps its in moss.
- I recommend removing the plastic and letting it dry out some. Then I would remove all the moss/soil and plant it in a nice pot using some orchid bark (it is a mixture of large particles of bark, charcoal, vermiculite and some moss. Youu may need to stake it such that it is supported until the roots can establish and take hold. I do not water mine from the top. I take a wide pan and put the orchid in the pan and then start to add water until the water is covering the bottom of the orchid pot. I let it sit there for a few hours and then I remove it and let it drain. Then I can bring it back into the house to a semi-sunny location. This seems to give the orchid all the water it needs and allows the bark to absorb some so the orchid can get it that way. Watering from the top just allows the water to run through since there is no soil. Before too long you should see some budding growth. I can keep blooms on my phalaenopsis for up to 6-7 months this way. Good luck.
- Q: i have 20 tomato plants in individual 6 containers on a flood table but i water by hand. i grew them from seed and they seem to be dying. tips of branches are yellowing and drying and even some leaves are. the plants are 8 inches tall and all planted in organic miracle grow soil mixed with perlite and vermiculite. they started off strong but now having problems. i have 10 small pepper plants the same age as the tomatos and they are thriving. all plants are under a 400wat metal halide light 1 foot above the plants and i water everyother day or when the top soil seems dry. please help!!
- If they're 8 tall and the roots aren't coiling around small pots, you're definitely over watering, which could lead to fungal diseases. Unless they're in a hot room, they should only need water every 3-4 days. You should also be watering from the bottom (pouring water into the tray and letting the plants soak it up from the bottom), not the top. Let them dry out a bit, and the next time you water, dilute a couple cups of old coffee by half and water from the bottom with that. If you get a sunny, warm day and you're going to be around the house, take them outside and let them get some real sunlight and fresh air. Just make sure you bring them in again at night.
- Q: What is or is theur a deposit, sorda like potting soil, I know it has big chunks in it, , get here sis?!?!?
- I don't have cresteds but, I have leos. They are SO fun and easy. I suggest a leopard gecko over a crested gecko.
- Q: I‘ve got 12 snake eggs incubating at 80-82 degrees Farenheit. They were laid between April 23 and May 5. I have been keeping them well watered, and they feel plump when I touch them, not squishy like when they were first laid. I know they are fertile, but I don‘t know the signs when they should hatch. The only sign I know of is that slits start appearing in the eggs, but I was told other signs begin in the 3-6 day before they hatch. So, my two questions are when are they likely to hatch, and what are the signs? If you‘ve NEVER incubated Reptile eggs, don‘t give an answer. Snake eggs aren‘t like bird eggs. Thanks all.
