Q: I am looking for some answers when it comes to soldering wires. Lets say I am using 6 to10 (22 AWG 2 conductor wires) and I want to solder those to 1 wire for power source and 1 wire for ground. Now lets say soldering 10 wires to 1 wire for power and 10 wires to 1 wire for ground. All the wires are the same AWG guage. Now that the wires are twisted together and soldered to the hot and ground source, by doing this will I actually make a resistor or change the amperage or reduce the voltage by soldering so much wires together to a 1 wire source? The power source I am using is 12 Volts. If anyone knows of anywhere I can find this information online, etc, I would appreciate it.
The amount of wires won't create a resistance or change the current. The devices and the power consumption of each will affect current. How do you think a car fuse panel works? Many fuses (connections) all come from the same positive wire on the car battery. Q: Our house ground wire is very long but our live and natural wires are very short. Once there was a surge in our telephone line system and both my Belkin Surge Protectors seemed to have not stopped it. The surge was stopped at my last protector when its sensitive fuse blew (it was a 10 ohm resistor fuse). Is it possible that since the natural wire is shorter than the ground wire the surge wantted to go through my PC and into the natural wire? Until car makers started having transponder keys in the late 90's you could pull the ignition switch ion most cars with a dent pulled. Then a simple screwdriver turning a small switch inside the steering column started the car. Hot wiring, like you see in movies and n TV shows, has not been able to be used since the early 90's on any car made in a first world country. In hot wiring you find the ignition wires, cut them from the ignition switch or block and then touch them together to activate the starter motor. One step they leave out on TV is that you have to already have another set of wires hooked up or jumped with another wire to keep the car going when the starter is done.

You just get the jeep wiring adapter and then solder or use crimp caps/butt-connectors to connect the wires to the aftermarket harness that comes with the aftermarket headunit. Also, depending on what year Jeep you have you may need an antenna adapter. AND I believe on the Jeeps (like the chryslers) there is not a usable ground wire in the factory wiring harness which means you will need to ground the aftermarket ground wire to the chassis via an existing bolt or drilling. Or, if the stock radio has one of these metal-mesh things affixed to the back, you can use that thing as well. But when you match up the Jeep harness you buy to the factory harness and you will be able to tell if there is ground wire in factory harness.
