- Q:I want to install a floating cork flooring but I have read the floating floor is not advise for the bathroom. Any advice.
- floating floors are free to move, expand, and contract. In a bathroom this movement would be 10x worse than usual due to humidity, heat and water. Cork is especially susceptible to that. You need tile or linouleum,you could even go as far as a tile-like laminate. that would hold up slightly better.
- Q:Do stages have sprung floors. I heard it is bad to dance on a floor that doesn't give any. So if the stage isn't sprung you could get injured. So do they have sprung floors? Thanks in advance!
- it depends on the facility. usually theaters have elevated stages, not necessarily sprung or set like dance studios floors are, but the elevation takes off the impact on your body. to be on the safe side, always practice proper and safe technique and execute your movements with plies

- Squeaks come from something rubbing. Rubbing comes from something moving against something moving less or stationary. Movement can be caused by a lot of things. Does it squeak when you walk on it? Walking puts weight on the floor. Weight can depress the floor, causing movement, causing rubbing, causing squeaking. (I am being very linear right now.) What kind of floor? Wood over a steel frame? Steel on steel? Welded or bolted? To stop the squeaking you can stop the movement by reinforcing the frame and floor so it doesn't flex when you walk on it. Extra cross pieces under the floor may stiffen the floor. Does the frame flex when the trailer is just supported by the axle and trailer tongue? What if you added more support at each corner of the trailer when the trailer is parked? Or you can stop the rubbing by attaching the rubbing parts so they don't move in relation to each other by tightening existing screws or bolts, or by installing additional screws or bolts between the floor and frame. Or you can try to eliminate the rubbing by separating the rubbing parts: neoprene or teflon washers or strips between floor and frame where they touch. You need to look under the trailer when someone is walking inside to see if you can locate the squeak and then observe what is the easiest repair. Thin wood wedges between frame and floor may be a temporary fix. Squeaks can be hard to fix, especially on vehicles that are not entirely rigid. Happy Trails.

- If you use paint its going to peel. The epoxy coating (sold at home depot / lowes) will work great but i think the floor has to be above 50 degrees or so. Check with manufacturer.
- Q:How can I cover a slate floor with carpeting.
- If its the gauged slate that is smooth and not a rough texture you can go over it with pad and carpet as normal. The tack strips will have to be glued and screwed into the sub floor. This will have to be treated as a slab or basement floor installation. Its possible to glue direct the carpet but the slate must be clean and solidly attached. Then you must treat the grout lines so the lines on t show through the carpet. Check all exterior doors to make sure you have clearances. Interior doors can be trimed down. - Parquet floors are easily damaged by exposure to moisture. There is a point where you can't fix them, they have to be replaced. Ask again with pics of the floor for a better answer.
