Q: How to clean the composite wood floor?
The ground dirty place with a dry wiping force wipe, if a long time wet rub, then the floor will be more and more luster, for your reference. First of all, to determine whether it is dirt, if it is, then use the washing spirit (the most easy to get, and more moderate) to wipe. Heavy dirt, but also with the scouring cloth. If it is not dirt, just shiny instability, you can use orange oil (from the orange peel in the oil, after purification. There are beauty and clean the surface of the wood effect). Composite floor, do not wax. Especially the numb, and can not wax. Once the wax is waxed, it will form a thick wax film on the surface of the floor, and it is even more difficult to clean up. In the love of the community above the maintenance of composite wood flooring method, LZ can go to recommend about, you will have some help.
Q: CONTRACTOR IN TRYING TO FIX BUCKLED FLOOR CREATED AN UNEVEN FLOOR. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THAT HAPPENED TO YOU?still under warranty.
It was probably uneven to begin with. Could be why it had buckled. You should've told him to make sure the floor was even. If you didn't, then I'd say, he did his job.
Q: I have tile floors and in the middle of the tile in the living room there was carpet. I had the carpet taken out and laminate floors put in. The trim between the tile and the laminate keeps popping out. When I had the flooring guy come out to fix it for the third time he said it was always going to do that because the wood was thicker (higher) than the tile. Is there something else I can do besides this stupid piece of trim?
As a flooring installer, I have made transitions from tile to laminate hundreds of times. Your flooring guy is either woefully ignorant or doesn't want to fix your problem properly. If the laminate is thicker than the tile, your tile must be quite thin, possibly on a concrete floor without backerboard? If this is the case the difference in height can easily be accommodated by a simple t-molding that will fit between the tile and wood and bridge one to the other. Wooden t-moldings must be nailed to the floor and if your floor is concrete this will require drilling into the concrete and providing dowels to nail into. However you can also buy a 4-in-1 laminate molding at any home improvement store. This 4-in-1 provides not only a t-molding, but two different kinds of reducer that will help you if the height difference between your floors is more than 1/4. This molding works by screwing a track to the floor and then snapping the molding into it. If you would like more specific help, feel free to e-mail.
Q: I am about to remodel my kitchen in my mobile home. I am going to tile the floor, replace the cabinets and replace the sheet rock. I am not sure if I will replace the sheet rock with a backer board and tile the walls or with sheet rock and paint the walls. My question is, should I, after tearing out the old cabinets and old floor, install the new cabinets first then tile the floor or tile the floor then install the new cabinets?
The first thing is I need to know is this laminate glue or snap together (do you want to save this floor ?) if you donot care this is how to remove your laminate First off figure which way the laminate is started this will give you a good starting point. this should just fold up ward ____/ like that once you start you should be able to take up thold laminate in 1 hour. make sure to remove all your wall base first., that is what holds down the laminate. After that is up you will have to determine what type of underlayment is on the subfloor. The most common is durock if you are putting down ceramic . If it is vinyl tiles you then should use luan (1/4 thick use the same thickness for the durock). You have to measure you length and width of the floor striking chalk lines to determine where your starting point is ( you do this with either type of floor). If you need more instruction e mailme.
Q: I have a dog and I know that floor cleaners are poisonous to dogs. I have heard that you can mix white vinegar with water and it will kill the bacteria and won't hurt the dog. What measurement should I use for the vinegar solution?
hmm i have people saying things that you add warm water to the vinegar solution. Also Dogs and cats can often be bothered by itchy, scaly ears -- especially if you have a dog with floppy ears like a retriever. Dilute white vinegar in a 1:4 ratio (1 tablespoon vinegar to 4 tablespoons water, for example), and let it soak into a clean rag. Then use the rag to wipe out the inside of your pet's ears. And if your pet gets sprayed by a skunk, vinegar is an easier acid to use than ketchup for getting rid of the smell, since ketchup itself doesn't rinse off all that easily. Finally, if unwanted cats are creeping around your yard, spray or pour vinegar onto their favorite litter box -- felines can't stand the stuff!
Q: I have an acid washed concrete floor in my business. I am having a problem with the floor being hazy/dirty after washing. The floor is waxed. When i clean the floor I use 2 buckets of water ... One with neutral floor cleaner and one clean water rinse bucket. After the floor dries it has a haze over it ... if i rub my fingers on the floor the haze goes away but my fingertips become black from the residue ... what can i do to get my floor back to clean ... i get so many compliments on the dirty floor and i cant imagine what they will say once it is really clean ... Any Help Would Be Appreciated ....Thank You
one possibillity is you're using to much neutral floor cleaner, and not rinsing well enough. if as you say the floor is waxed thats about the only likely cause.
Q: is it like from the bottom: floor joist, sub floor, cement board, tiles? or what?
You use a cement board any where you need tile . You install it atop the standard 3/4 wood sub floor. And to install it properly you apply a thin set to the sub floor and then nail or screw it down. NEVER is construction adhesive used to properly install cement board. Using thin set creates a full coverage and won t cause gaps. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q: A raw fish fillet fell on the floor. Is is still safe to eat? Can you just rinse it off?
Hell, yes!

Q: Can radiant floor heating be installed in the concrete pour, then after concrete has sufficiently cured (28 days) can a resinous coating, such as a epoxy/polyurethane floor coating be installed on a floor that will later be radiant heated. My concern is that these coatings are very moisture intolerant. Does radiant floor products, create any moisture in the slab that could rise to the surface. Does changes in temps affect the moisture levels in concrete. Electric radiant floor products seem to be best.Pipes filled with hot water to me is a concern. Do the pipes "sweat" causing condensation or are they wrapped. I am currently on a large project and these questions are coming up in the design forum.
According to the above site, water heating is the least wastefull and the most easily controlled.
