Q:Tile back splash......?
If they are tiles, you would be better off replacing the entire splash
Q:Has anyone sucessfully drilled into tiling or how do I remove tiles?
You just get a chisel and a hammer and pry them from the wall. If they are on concrete, then you use a really big chisel and hammer. *The sheetrock may come down with the tile.
Q:White Tiles With Grey Spots?
Tile won t stain under normal circumstances so I suspect the glaze is a bit worn off rt in front of the fridge.. That can be a wet spot that will dry eventually or stain the tile body in which you have no choice but to r and r the tile(s).. GL
Q:problem with my floor tile?
Are you talking about vinyl tile? If so, the old tile is probably discolored from age, and ware. There's nothing you can do about that, but you can take another old tile from a place that's not noticeable, like under a piece of furniture, and put it where you put the new one, then put the new one in the place where you removed the old one from, and it's not to noticeable. If you're talking about ceramic or clay tile, there may be a way to refinish the old ones to make them look new, but you'd have to check with a tile place to find out.
Q:Can you paint tiled floor?
There okorder.com/ it recommends not using floor tile paint in places such as bathrooms where there is moisture. I guess you could paint the floor a week or two before putting it on the market - a case of buyer beware if it all scrapes off 6 months later - but the paint is quite expensive so I wouldn't personally go down this route myself - as it's not a nice thing to happen for the unsuspecting buyers. I'm guessing that currently the floor is more of an eyesore as you haven't integrated this into your current bathroom design? Personally, I would ditch the painting idea and buy a decent off-cut of lino and cover up the old floor tiles since you only have a small area to work with. Lino nowadays comes in many guises/patterns and since it's a small area you can check all local companies for offcuts of perhaps the more expensive pseudo 'wood' type lino etc... You may spend £50 but it will brighten the room and transform it into a more modern look - and ultimately will help you get your asking price. (You could also tell the buyers that the original green tiles are still underneath and they could reveal them if they wanted to...just don't tell them how ugly they are...the secret is to get them excited about new possibilities in the future!!) LOL Fingers crossed that your house sells quickly in the Spring. xx
Q:Bleach stains on my tiles?
I don't know what type of tiles you have, but if it doesn't have a glazed finish, you may not be able to do much about it. Travertine is a popular natural limestone that is very popular these days and is frequently used in bathrooms. The only drawback is that it is a soft and porous material, so it is much easier to damage that a glazed tile or a natural polished marble. The good news is that it is relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. Call a good tile man and get a quote to refinish and a quote to replace the damaged pieces.
Q:travertine tile?
The best thing that you should do is to change your floor tiles. Why don't you try marble this time? It will instantly transform your bathroom into an oasis of relaxation.
Q:Installing Travertine Tile?
luke has you covered, I'd lay one let it set up I have had natural stone change color after being put in a bed of thin-set
Q:can i lay linoleum over ceramic cracked tile?
Cracked tiles usually indicate loose tiles, if they are loose, the vinyl or lino will show the cracks and loose tile in no time at all. If the tiles happen to be tight, and the crack is caused by a structure failure some where then the tiles can be treated so you can lay sheet goods over them. There are easy ways to tell which is which. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar . GL
Q:Laying new tile in my laundry room help?
These tiles are self sttick, so no other glue is needed. However, the surface of the floor must be clean, dry, and smooth for the tile job to last. Be sure to follow installation instructions carefully. Personally, anywhere water is involved, (bath, kitchen, laundry,) the less joints that water can penetrate, is the better solution. Self stick tiles will no hold up to an overflowing sink or toilet.
