- Q: Pottery Barn tells me that a sofa that they have with overall dimensions of 80w x 36d x 36h will not fit through my doorway. They say that the diagonal depth of the sofa is 32 and that's what determines whether or not it will fit. However, the sofa has removable back cushions and the actual back of the sofa is 29. Will it fit through the door?
- It depends if the Arm rests are lower each side than the back of the Couch, then it is possible to put Couch upright and loop it around door like Waltzing, if you have clearance either side of Door. It is possible if you take the Door off you might get it in as you will have two extra Inches and the Door wont be in your way, also if Couch is made of soft enough Material then it might Squeeze in the Door with a bit of effort. You must be careful of taking off Wrapping in the hope of getting it in Door as there will be no protection to Couch and it could get easily ripped, so it is better to leave the Wrapping on for protection and not take it off. You will have to Judge if it is worth taking the risk of taking the Wrapping off or not. Is there a possibility of a Rear Window Access to your living Room or even taking the Window out or a back Door into the Kitchen and then into living Room. Good Luck anyway. - Hi, Do not, do not, I repeat do not get a microfiber sofa. They are awful. I have one. It is bologna that they are stain resistant and can easily be cleaned. At the beginning they do ok however after about six months there's major wear and tear. I would say get a leather one and just keep your eyes on the dogs. That's what I plan to get next time a leather sofa a dark brown one. I too have pets. Have a great day!!

- I knew a cat who did this because he was lonely. His owners spent more time with him and he stopped doing it. Litter box problems are also a common cause, but it sounds like you have that one under control. Putting him outside for the evening might just make whatever the problem is worse. He won't get why you're doing it and it could cause resentment. Giving him a little spritz of water could help, but be careful about doing it too much.

You can find it with shoe police at your local store. Or there may be some type of leather treatment cream that will restore the look of your sofa. As for the dog, consider getting a blanket that stretches all the way across the seat of the sofa, fold it in half lengthwise, and insert long pieces of aluminum foil between the layers. Put this on the sofa. Dogs and cats hate it and will avoid the sofa. It will protect the sofa when you cannot. Be sure to tuck it in firmly around the edges when you are not at home. (It will look fine if you choose a blanket that goes with the decor; try it first with something you have on hand.)
