- Q: I have a small living room and have been trying to find suitable furniture that is not too overstuffed/big. The other issue is that the door is 30-31 inches wide and most furniture heights and depths are bigger than this. I have looked at Ikea's products and I'm considering the Karlstad loveseat or the new Sater sofa, which is a 2.5 seat leather sofa. Is Ikea furniture comfortable and durable. How good is the leather? How well does the furniture age? I don't want it looking shabby after a short while. - Q: I have a sofa that is made of suede its in a dark cream colour and someone has split a bit of false nail glue on it. I have tried soap powder, washing up liquid, Star Drop, nothing is removing it. Does anyone no how to remove it without damaging the fabric as its SUEDE. I have heard that you can use Nail polish remover with acetone in it but I don't want to damage my sofa. The glue has left a dark circle mark about the size of your pinkie nail. Can anyone help me please?????? Thanks

- Wipe down the sofa with warm water on a soft rag. Consider washing it with saddle soap. I have only used it on shoes, handbags and boots, so no idea how long this will take. You can find it with shoe police at your local store. Or there may be some type of leather treatment cream that will restore the look of your sofa. As for the dog, consider getting a blanket that stretches all the way across the seat of the sofa, fold it in half lengthwise, and insert long pieces of aluminum foil between the layers. Put this on the sofa. Dogs and cats hate it and will avoid the sofa. It will protect the sofa when you cannot. Be sure to tuck it in firmly around the edges when you are not at home. (It will look fine if you choose a blanket that goes with the decor; try it first with something you have on hand.)

However, HM is a very good quality sofa, so I would highly consider having the seat back cushions reupholstered in a rich tapestry fabric. The look is very fashionable the cost will be RELATIVELY minimal. Call the best upholsterer you can afford cause this will be a worthwhile investment.
