Q: i have a new alternater and battery but my battery light comes on when i reach a certain speed?
Stop by an auto parts store and have them test the battery and charging system. You could have a loose or corroded cable or connection, or the battery or alternator is bad. Even new parts can be faulty.
Q: Does the truck have a self diagnosis tool that can tell me the code for the check engine light? Like some Chrysler /Dodge products if you turn the key 3 times a code will appear on the dash. What about the GMC?
The 2002 yukon does not have self diagnosis built into this system. You can call around some of your local auto parts stores and see if any of them have a scanner and will run a free test. Most autozone stores have this service.Best of luck.
Q: The engine need service soon light was on in my vehicle last week. I suspected it was the bad fuel I put in since it turned on immediately after I pumped at Costco. I was busy and did not have a chance to go to my auto shop. Yesterday, I found the warning light was gone. It contradicts my general understanding that once the light is on, you need a device to turn it off. Will it be something like if you wait long enough, the bad thing will go away by itself?
It sounds like you may very well have had gotten bad gas. Water in gas will reek havoc on an engine and it's sensors. You probably have a car made after 1996, in which it has a OBD2 computer system. You computer will run tests everytime to turn the key on, and if a test fails it will turn the light on. This is what Technicians call a soft code. If the test passes the 2nd or 3rd time run the computer will clear it itself. If the test fails three times in a row, then the code is stored into hard memory in which is called hard code and must be cleared manually. If you light continues to come on, I would have it checked for a possible contaminated oxygen sensor or a clogged fuel injector!
Q: i have a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim with a 4 Cyl Motor and the Check Eng light comes on after i start driveing it for a few miles after the motor worms up really good. so i tho it needed a tune up so i replace the Plugs Wires cap and rotor and new air filter. so it still did the same thing took it to auto zone and they told me it was the inline fuel filter so i replace that and i just put a new fuel pump in to cus i tho maybe that was it but it still dose it. i been useing fuel cleener and that don‘t help. what could it be?? please help.
More than likely it is one of two or three things. 1. The O2 sensor - i.e. oxygen sensor 2. The EGR valve - i.e. inert gas recirculation valve 3. or something in your emissions system The best way to find the actual problem is NOT to just start swapping parts rather have a mechanic read the code or codes that the on-board computer has recorded. Or, you can buy a code reader at an auto parts store and do-it-yourself, just follow the manual. Hope this helps.
Q: I have a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria and when I started the car all the lights flashed [headlights, interior lights, dash lights] then went out. Now my headlights are not working nor is the turn signals. All I get when I turn the headlight switch is the interior dome light flash on and off. There is three positions on the headlight switch [off, parking lights, and on] and when I move it into either position in either direction there is a quick flash of the interior dome light. No headlights flash they just don‘t work, just the dome light and the light under the hood when you have the hood up. Any ideas?
Turn off the auto headlamp mode (see your manual) and that may fix the problem (see service bulletin). Component Description: 75. Q: What is the function of the car's lamp?
The lamp is a vehicle lighting tool, can be divided into front lights, rear lights, turn lights, license plate lights and so on. The lights play an important role in the safety of the vehicle.
Q: I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla that the check engine light came on and every time I go to advance auto parts to check what it is saying system to leanI get them to take it off and it come on again.I decided it was time to change my spark plugs and airfilter. It still came on again. I went to take it off. Guess what? It came on again.I am thinking it could be something wrong with the oxygen sensor or the catalytic converter(which is not easy nor cheap to replace!!!).Anyway, it costs $85 to know EXACTLY what's wrong with it at the Toyota DEALERSHIP?!! should I take it in? I really don't totally trust these people because they usually try to milk your pocket and get you to change things you don't need to change!
I dont know of any dealership that rips you off. What you mean to say is you dont want to spend the 85 dollars on a diagnosis by a professional because you are scared to know how much it really costs to fix. You can continue going to your professionals at Advanced and have the light turned off or you can go to a Professional and pay the proper diagnostic fee for a PROPER diagnosis. A lean code is an idication of a vacuum leak, intake leak, low fuel pressure, etc.... Why would you change spark plugs and an air filter for that code?
Q: My Nissan Armada '04 service engine soon light has been on for a while. I took it to get a NYS inspection and they said not to get the inspection until I figure out what's wrong with the engine because if they hooked it up to the computer it would be an automatic failure. I recently had to replace a part of the muffler/exhaust pipe because a clamp was missing and they had to weld a piece of piping on. I was just wondering what the possibilities were that might be wrong with it and appx. how much it might be to fix?also: have never had any problems as far as stalling or anything. Is it possible it could just be a sensor thing?
same thing happened to me so i'm pretty sure it's a sensor! my guess bank 2, sensor 1. it's probably getting the wrong reading since the exhaust was altered. my friend is a mechanic so he hooked up a reader (or whatever those things are called) to my car and cancelled the light. good luck!
Q: I borrowed a friend's Toyota Highlander because I was having my car detailed. He has a very small garage so when I backed out the entire bumper came off and the grill cracked. I went to an auto body shop and had it fixed the same day. The guy did an excellent job but I noticed the left blinker was going off but I was too busy too check it. So I was coming home late and all of a sudden I noticed the lights weren't coming on. What should I doI'm going to take it to the toyota repair center.but I would like to have an idea of what it might be! I need help ASAP!!!!!
sounds like your switch is bad, or you burned up the fuses check them 1st
Q: i am an high school student and i would like to to an independent study with a very cool auto teacher at my school, but i have no idea what i want to do any suggestions would be helpful thanks.
