Q:We have a fire and CO detector that I removed from the ceiling to paint it.After I removed it I saw in tiny print to shut it off before removing. I really am not familiar with what it looks like off hand as I'm at work.It is sensitive to the light being turned on and it goes off every time we turn the light on. It says warning, carbon monoxide levels are high, then it says carbon monoxide levels are 0 PPM and stops.They are all new and all of them have gone off at least twice since moving in and only when the light is turned on. They go off within seconds.How can I get this one to stop going off EVERY time? Like I said, I'm at work and not familiar off hand with what's on it. I'd hope there's some kind of reset button? Is it too close to the light? It's maybe 2-3 feet away from the light.I'm sure I can figure it out eventually, but it's just weird to never have a problem this bad with it until now.

i would bet that you have asthma. it may only happen on rare occasions i would lay money that not having the reaction when you switched to glass was merely a coincidence. if i were you i would go to your doctor and tell him about the reaction (leave out what you were doing at the time) but let him know that its a reaction that you have sometimes but very rarely and get an inhaler for those emergency situations. also to ther person who chose to answer a question that they obviously know nothing about, none of those methods of smoking require anyone to burn plastic and if you are burning plastic you are doing it wrong.

Q:I have an 07 Malibu and there is a problem with the lock button on the doors, both the driver and the passenger (these are the only two). The problem is they both don't work. I know it's not the fuse because I've checked it. The doors unlock us fine when I use the remote. Any suggestions?

How does knowing what refrigerants could be used protect your bike? Are you checking their pockets? Are you going out to buy all the refrigerants so it's not available to them? Sounds like you're just asking us for info to steel OUR bikes. If you do we'll just need the refrigerant to put you in the freezer for life. Gorilla Glue is just right, but weight it down at the same time it dries. GG expands something like 30% and makes air bubbles when drying, so if it can be no longer weighted, the rubber piece will stick up and may ooze. Use sparingly!

An apple is a good one.. another would be to dig around in the steel fittings at the local hardware store and find some that can thread together. Clean plain steel is pretty safe, as should be stainless steel. Stay away from aluminum or nickel plate if you're worried about toxins. I can't speak on the toxicity of copper but I know that it has a low melting point in comparison to steel or stainless steel. If you have a drill press, you can take a clean section of 1 dowel (or whatever size you choose, could substitute a dry alder, poplar, or fir branch for that matter) and drill the center out with like a 1/4 drill bit and then drill a bowl out of the side, connecting that hole with the hole you drilled through the center of the dowel. I've used all of the above; just be creative. Apples make a fine disposable pipe and an apple is a better food choice than most if you get the munchies.
